i know alot of members post once then leave, but I didn't think we were averaging 3 topics per member!!!
While im at it, I'll add this too:

Av. 3 topics per member

Av. 22 posts per topic

Av. 65 posts per member

exaclty... there are many members that have signed up, but do not post.

I know for a fact there are some of those people that were going to post but decided to stay browsing only :) There are a lot of people that do watch and read these forums... but do not post.

Haha, yeah, I mean, we have over 3000 members yet it feels like we only have 20-30 because so many do not post. This is sort of the reason I wanted things to tighten up around here. Because I think a lot of members want to post, but don't out of fear that certain members will put them down or make fun of their question/s. And trust me, it happens a lot here now days, unfortunately.
 
True, but it's not that common. And if they want, they can stay in the F&G section where everything's a joke and even the insullts are laughable. Besides, there's only a few that have their mean streaks, and the rest are all tolerable and very friendly, so there's not that much chance of being flamed or somethin'.

Some of the members are just sarcastic, though, not necessarily mean. It's just hard to tell sarcasm over the internet, especially if you're not familiar with the person posting in such a manner.

Well, some comments have been pretty cruel on newer members. I mean, sure, sometimes people ask silly questions and it's hard not to answer in a sarcastic way, but embarrassing them on their first or second question is a sure fire way to get them not to come back! You can spin it however you want, but the bottom line is am just looking out for this site and its well being. I see BV always asking how to get more members and *keep* them, so I offered a suggestion. Just trying to help :)
 
i always feel like what i am about to post is stupid and pointless. thats why i have such a low post count. most times i will write the whole thing then say "screw it, its not that good and it doesn't need to be said" hell i have rewritten this post 3 times already before actually posting it.

EDIT: it was 5 before i actually clicked "post"

Absolutely do not feel like that! You should post whatever you feel, or want to say, don't hold back! I am telling you nobody will think it is "stupid and pointless". So go on, post it up, man :D
 
its not that i think everyone else will think its pointless and stupid, I think that its pointless and stupid. i can't stand looking at something i have said and hating it. that and i am usually drunk when posting and i say dumb things when i am drunk.

i don't see how people can take it somuch to heart, what is said via a web-forum,
i know it dosen't bother me whn it happens,

Well, I don't know. It usually bothers me whenever anyone insults me or seems upset with me, but that is more an emotional issue of my own from my past and stuff, but I have been working on it, and think I am doing a lot better and not feeling super bad about what people say.

I do usually always worry whenever I write anything...whether it should even belong on a gaming site or if it is worth saying etc, and I usually always just decide not to say stuff.

But I think I am way better then before with my self esteem and things. Before if anyone said anything insulting to me or seemed upset at me I would send them some big private message apologizing and saying sorry and stuff even if they were just being stupid or mean, but now I am better able to decide whether I deserved their response or not, and if I think it was undeserved I do not apologize. So, I think I am doing way better then before. Yay me! :D
