A new PSP Model revealed! PSP-3000

The PSP-3000 series is real, folks. And that's about as far as we get in today's episode. The FCC filing for the "PSP-3001" has been pulled, thumbed and returned. What was found looks disappointingly similar to the current PSP hardware model, though there is that thick wall of confidentiality standing in the way (the one we're just dying to take a sledgehammer to). From what we can see, there appears to be no evidence of the rumored built-in mic or "Home" button redesign, and the metallic ring doesn't look any thinner. You can see for yourself in the alternate views posted after the break.

Okay what does this translate to in english? Cutting down the production cost by using cheaper parts of the PSP can lead to a...PRICE CUT

Ah thanks Mega D 20 Double X for the amazing PSP post again.

I cant wait to get it with this new screen (faster response speed and contrast ratio) cause I do take it outside a lot. PSP is gonna rock again. I might get just the core one though, cause my PSP 2000 isnt even a year old yet but the 4GB pro duo is a tantalizing deal.

I have a PSP 1000 model and a 4GB memory stick. I was thinking about getting the blue 2001 model because Mai has red. What to do... :?
 
That is like the DS Screen compared to the DS Lite, except with more pixels, better contrast ratio, and speed.

Im getting this beautiful PSP immediately!!!

meh even if they are doing something similar if i have to i will get this model (after the 360 of course)

not all the time, the DS lite has more battery life than the original so since they are doing the same thing as the DS maybe they will add more battery to it

That's because Nintendo improved the battery, I've yet to see anything about changed batteries in PSP's, and we all know Sony would be flaunting it if they did.

Ouch that was hard to even find an image have to scroll five pages just to see what was going on.

Well I hope Sony issues some response. Gosh this is two bad things in one day, first LBP delay rumors and now issues with the tech on the 3000!

thats one of the many images that users posted in the playstation forum of games that have the rampant "scan" lines that appear on the new PSP 3000 system,

It was an example of what "scanlines" are. It's not from any game.

I believe what is happening is that the new screen is so sharp and crisp that it displays the flaws in the resolution of the games. Can't seem to figure out why the colors would change as well though.
