about the PSP casing

I had a JPN one... and the back seemed smooth....

The back of the one I received today is rough. Some of the case edges are a bit rough as well.

Anyone else notice this?

the backside of mine is a bit gritty and rough. My bud told me they did this on purpose so it wouldn't come out of your hand so easily.... :?

But are the Japanese ones made with metal on the silver middle part of the system? Can anyone answer that? OR are they all plastic like the US systems?
I could have SWORN that the jpn one had metal in the middle casing/

I have a US one and yes the front is uber-smooth and polished and the back is a coarser material.

from a customer a long time ago.

I could've been wrong though.. but I thought I remembered it being metal instead of plastic silver.
