An interesting rumor I heard.

I've heard that the PSP is selling 260% better than a year ago, can anyone confirm this? If so, it could start to make things interesting. There's actual games out for it now: Medal of Honor, GTA, SOCOM and soon Metal Gear Solid. I wonder fi that has an impact.

Games make the system that's the way it will always be ;-)
If it is getting good games on it, than it will start to sell better. Personally I would like to know more about that new metal gear game.

It's supposed to be good, and a lot of emphasis put on the people who are recruited into your squad, which you have some degree of control. Also, if you connect at different wireless hotspots, you get different characters for your squad. A way interesting concept and a great innovative way to use wireless, if you ask me.

260% better... than what? I mean, what's the baseline for this percentage? It means nothing without the baseline..

Well the PSP was selling half the amoung of DS that was sold so 260% would be that it sold only 160% more units than before. Because 100% is the half-DS amount and 160%would be that same half-amount plsu some more. Of course the DS still sold more during this entire period.

Metal Gear Solid:Portable Ops is the best PSP game that I've played; and the hot spot thing is awesome. I got to Ocelot unit soldiers!! Buy it if you have a PSP!!!

interesting indeed, but true. the lack of great games, and the spike in GREAT ds games is probably most of the cause.

also a lot of average (non hardcore gamer or tech junkie) dont know how to use memory sticks, and that could also be a problem.

The baseline would be it's own sales figures from a year ago.

I am reading this as "The PSP is selling 260% better than it did a year ago." I am implying this because there is no other comparison offered in the first post.
