Arcade Game Recalled for Breaking People's Arms

In Sylvester Stallone's 1987 opus Over The Top, the Oscar-nominated actor's character Lincoln Hawk walks away from a climactic arm wrestling showdown bloodied and hurt, but intact. The same cannot be said for a handful of arcadegoers in Japan who tested their arm wrestling mettle against Atlus' Arm Spirit machine and walked away with broken bones.

The Associated Press is reporting today that Atlus is recalling all 150 of its Arm Spirit cabinets after receiving word that three players had suffered broken arms at the machine's mechanical hand.

An Atlus spokesperson told the news service that the move is a precaution, noting that the players may have twisted their arms in an unnatural way. She also said that the machine isn't particularly strong, and that "even women should be able to beat it."

Haha that's crazy. A game actually breaking people's arms. Can you imagine a boxing game like that? Leaving arcade-goers bloodied and bruised? :lol

that's 100% hilarious. even women should be able to beat it and 3 dudes got broken bones? not enough calcium in japan I guess.

Yeah, I couldn't help but laugh after I read that women should be able to beat it, and three guys just get destroyed. :lol
