Has anyone else snagged this off of Steam yet? I'm practically addicted to the game already!
Basically, the game takes whatever song (and I mean any song) you give it, and it creates a a track out of it. You then take a certain character / car, and you drive on said track, collecting blocks of the same color to score points.
It's not just that, though. Depending on the song you put in depends on the difficulty as well. If you put in something, like, Dragonforce's "Through Fire and Flames", you can expect a lot of downhill high-speed areas with more blocks then you can handle. If you put in a more calm song, you can expect the track to be more uphill and more low-speed in general. Basically, whatever song you put in, puts a different track out.
The track is created on a number of things. For example, calmer, quieter areas are, as said, uphill and slow, and louder, more intense parts give higher speed downhill slopes. Each block on the track represents any sticatto part of the song. A tunnel signifies an intense moment in the song. And I still don't know what a corkscrew in the track means :lol
There's a multitude of characters to select from, each within 3 different difficulies. For example, Mono has just two kinds of blocks: grey and colored. Pointman lets you grab a colored block and put it somewhere else. Eraser lets you remove a block entirely that you've already collected.
And there's a global high score board, which uses 3 different tables, one for each of the three difficulties. If you must know, I'm already #1 in Static X's "Black and White" in all 3 difficulties with Ninja Mono :lol
Pointman. This is basically what the game looks like on an easier mode.
An imperfect run on Mono on DragonForce's Through Fire and Flames
