Aw crap...

Me and my girlfriend decided we'd go to the mall for some shopping for halloween costumes and what not. We got some stuff, but before we went to leave, we decided to go into the pet store. Being as I'm 18, we could take a dog into one of their petting rooms and play with it for a short while.

However, this requires an ID, my drivers license to be exact... And I forgot to get it back from them when we left.

I have to head back there tomorrow, being as it's 11:30 here. I dear hope to god it's still there. I also dear hope to god I don't get pulled over, or I'm royally screwed.

bummer...at the risk of sounding obnoxious I'd say, make darn sure you drive the safest and as deliberately as you ever have and you should be fine.

Well, I'm generally a safe driver.  I was pulled over once for going 47 in a 30 when I was heading home from my girlfriends house.  I was let off with a warning for a couple reasons:

Clean record (back when I was 17 too)
The speed limit change from 30 to 45 was right where he caught me, but it was kind of obvious that I was speeding before.
11:30 at night (who wants to be out driving!)

The only mistake I said to the cop was that the car was mine, and he did a check and said it was registered to my father (since I was 17).  I made the assumption taht when he asked me who owned the car, I said myself.  I didn't realize if he meant who it was registered too.

Anyway, I should be fine.  I'm just hoping I don't.

What I really, really hope is that they still have it with them.  I'd hate to waste my time to find that it got lost or something, and we all know that the DMV will take a year before they send me a new one.

Christ, I hope I an explain this to my parents.

I'm sure they'd understand, all you did was forget it at a pet store.

I think you have like a week to supply them with your license if you get pulled over without it.......you should be fine.

I thought you were going to say your girlfriend made you buy the dog and you would be stuck with it.   :lol

Uhh... I've been pulled over a few times without my license with me and you technically don't need it at all. They call your name into thye station and they confirm you have a valid license... so you really don't need to have it with you

Well, just drive slowly back to the store, and stop at all stop signs.....this topic reminded me that hubby has my license in his wallet. I brought it with to visit my sis, and when he picked me up, I gave it to him for safe keeping. I had better get it back! I have to drive tomorrow.

Anyhow, this sounds like somthing that could hapen to anyone, so don't stress yourself out over it!

Well I got back it back safe and sound. It's actually a common occurance at the store, as they pulled my license from a one inch stack of licenses.

Even if I don't need it for driving, I still need it for a form of ID.
