What do you think your Best 5 games from 2004 are?
They had to have come out in 2004... that is the only restriction.

Metal Gear Solid 3
Katamari Damacy
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection
King of Fighters: Maximum Impact

At least these are the ones I have personaly enjoyed the most.
 
Half Life 2
Halo 2
Rome: Total War
Ninja Gaiden
Battlefield: Vietnam

There were a bunch that might have made this list but I didn't play a lot of the games I wanted to. Pirates, Burnout 3, Fable, Doom 3, all games I'm sure I'd love but I never had enough time.
 
Note that I haven't played many games that came out in 2004, such as Paper Mario 2 or Tales of Symphonia.

In no particular order:

Half-Life 2 (Played it round my friends. Possibly the best game ever, I want it.)
Burnout 3
Metroid Prime 2
Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures
Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green
 
no lovers of gta eh? i thought they did very well with the improvements they added
and no World of Warcraft :'(

I agree. GTA 3 really was the landmark GTA title, and since that was so good, I guess they just decided to improve what they already had. Vice City and San Andreas weren't meant to be as big a leap as GTA 3 was from GTA 2, they were just supposed to give the gamer a lot more freedom to roam around in a bigger, more active city.
 
four swords was enjoyable, just tough to get all my friends together since we live very far apart with school going
great game nonetheless
i liked star wars battlefront a lot, pc or ps2. pc was good with a 'ton' of people and bots
