Best Buy trying to scam you? *Selling used games as unopen returns*

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
Today, I bought for $4.99. Wild Arms 4 for PS2. What a bargain, I thought. When I got home, I noticed the shrink wrap didn't match any other game. I opened it and discovered the plastic case was damaged and the disc itself was scratched in many places. Obviously, this was shrink wrapped by a customer and returned to the store claiming "Unopen" return.

Who should I be upset at? The fact this is a game I wanted to see BRAND NEW, Best Buy selling this without knowing probably, or the dishonest customer who did this.

don't they sell used games? i know circuit city does.....

No stores around me at least sell used games besides gamestop/ebgames.

I would guess that the customer bought it, beat it, reshrinked it, and took it back saying it was new... But I dunno.

I seriously doubt that they re-sealed the game as that is against the law. I am sure it was a customer. All you need is the plastic and a blow dryer and you can do it. You shouldn't be upset at Best Buy. Just know there are assholes out there. It could have been worse. Once upon a time I worked in electronics at Target and we were getting back games that were resealed for the N64. Turns out they took the games and replaced them with a block of wood.

A block of wood? Now that is creative! lol.

Yeah, it worked well. Made it feel like it had a game still in there. I have to give them props.

We did catch the guy though. ;)

I dunno, I still think my way would have worked better.

It certainly would have been more enjoyable. I didn't see any of the money for catching him, but throwing the chunks of wood at him. Hours of fun.

A guy I worked with bought a video camera from Wally World a few years back. Got it home and opened it and was surprised it was filled with bird seed. My suggestion to anyone is if something is not quite right, then it's safer to just walk away. If it looks tampered with, request to open it right there and examine the contents. It's how you say, ceveat emptor??
