How will this affect PS3 games,if at all? I think PS3 games are on a Blue-Ray disc aren't they?

It won't affect them as stated in the article, the new Blu-Ray discs that have more space on them won't be compatible with the PS3. It just means that Movies can have more to them now. :P

this will also help with the advent of 3d movies now.

have a sony blu ray player at work that is "3d ready", meaning it will be ready when you update the firmware for it.

I just reread the article and yes they are going to be more expensive, at least the larger BDXL discs. That's because they're only going to be released as burnable media. These won't be used for movies or games.

I'm sure the other new Blu-ray format will remain the same price.
