Call of Duty 3 - Wii

Ok.... the controls are pretty good... but not perfect... they say they are fun to play with. BUT WHY would Nintendo not have an online play ready for this?

Read the IGN Review:
http://wii.ign.com/articles/746/746145p2.html

They say:
Lasting Appeal
In a game that’s nearly all about multiplayer, the lack of online (due to Nintendo) and split screen (due to Treyarch) is a spit in the face of Wii gamers. Luckily the single player mode is solid.
Now what's up with that?

Whoa...now that's irritating. That's kinda the whole point of that game, as they say. I'm really surprised. Nintendo needs to get on the ball with multiplayer.

Ok, I was at a local Gamestop a few days ago talking to a really cool worker that I've become good friends with, when a Nintendo rep came in to hook up the wii. I asked bout online and he said Nintendo isn't concerned about online right now, but it will come out later. I guess that's a good thing. I wish it was already online capable though.

It should be very shortly. IT's not that they aren't interested... I am not sure why they are still using that line when it is CLEARLY stated that they have an online plan.

TO BOOT.... there is no reason for game developers to limit a game... EVEN IF ONLINE, it still should be able to be played multiplayer in the same room

yeah I agreed that online should be on the Wii. Nintendo DS was the only Nintendo system with online, hopefully the wii is online with Games like Call of Duty, Super Smash Bro, Metriod3 and many others

From what I understand when Nintendo launches Wi-fi for its games CoD 3 will be able to go online.
It's not online... and that's official... Who knows... maybe they'll provide a patch ::D :shame :hh
* doubt it. and if they do... it better NOT BE A TREND!!

So.... Anyone else still excited about this? I want to give the controls a shot... I still think the Wii can be an awesome system for FPS games.

Did anyone actually pick up CoD3 for the Wii? My employee appreciation is coming up this Friday (we get 25% off instead of just 15%) and I was thinking about getting CoD3.

I got it for the 360...I don't see COD3 being a game best suited for the Wii. I think for that I'd stick to Zelda, Madden...and I'm even thinking about Raving Rabbids because buzz is it's a great game.

I like it... it's a good game (IMO). You might think it is mediocre...

The smoke effects are awesome.. (smoke grenades... and blowing up canisters...) but the graphics seem to be lacking a bit. The controls can be sensitive at times as well. But it does provide some fun times... intense combat... and a decent weapons.

Back to the graphics... for some reason... it looks like a Gamecube game (except somewhat better)... IMO. but the framerate isn't bad at all... there are more destructables that a Gamecube (I believe).

Audio is pretty darn good.

Maybe they traded graphics for more content like stuff to blow up? Technical specs obviously put the Wii at the low end of the graphical processing, but this is just the beginning of the Wii's life span. Hopefully they will learn how to get the most out of the Wii's capabilities.

Still, being something like twice as powerful as the 'Cube should let developers bring more graphics to play. Oh well. As long as the over all game is fun, I'm sure I could deal with a few things.

Rumors at the beginng were that the Wii would be online for sure. I was getting all excited to play Smash Bros. online, as well as any decent shooters that came out. Just a question cuz I don't remember, but was the XBox online capable as soon as it came out?

considering that the wii cpu is reportadly clocked at 729Mhz, they probably do have to cut down on the graphics to allow more interactivity. Keep in mind that game cpu's are usually not as powerful as a PC processor of the same clock speed. (that's why they can sell game systems so cheap)

The Wii is already online. How else would you download the Virtual Console games and trade Miis with people? ;)

The actual online games should start next year, though. And I'm pretty sure Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be online. They wouldn't hear the end of it if it wasn't.
