I don't think it gets any more oldskool than the C64.
Today, Nintendo of Europe (along with EU-based Commodore Gaming) are pleased to delight these aging codgers with a big surprise: The Commodore 64 will soon be joining the likes of the Genesis, NES and other historic platforms as one of the officially supported emulation formats on the Wii Virtual Console!
C-64 fans in territories other than Europe will just have to cross their fingers and hope that Nintendo sees fit to port the emulation technology worldwide. Though it remains to be seen how C-64 retronauts will manage to TURN TAPE OVER or type "*, 8, 1" using a Wiimote, this announcement is great news for anybody interested in the preservation of gaming's living history as we move forward into the 21st century.
