Counter Strike Prob.

Freeze Sucka
I have an old copy of counter strike I just found and I installed on my PC. After installing it I tried the training mode to see if it worked alright. The problem is when I started the training mode the screen shrank/restored down or whatever and I could barley play. A similar phenomenon has occured with my Starcraft on my PC when I start a game with it some of the screen is cut out so I can't see my minerals/gas etc. Its not as bad on SC but on Counter Strike its terrible, the game screen restores down to the top left of my screen and its annoying because the rest of my screen is black.

P.S. Where is the best place to download the newest updates for counterstrike because my version is like 1.0 or something and I want to join all games possible once I play online. CS online for the PC has always confused me because its SO hard to get into a game and have the most updated version.

Any advice or help would be well appreciated! :)

I am at a loss with this... I am not sure I understand whats happening to the screen (I understand its dark).

Can you get a screen shot?

The biggest Counter Strike problem you have is that you still play it. :lol Other than that, it sounds like the resolution is all wrong. Try setting it higher in the Options menu.

its the only game I got besides Diablo II and that game used to be fun but now it is just boring...

BY THE WAY! I got counterstrike to work, I just went and downloaded steam and now it runs smoothly BESIDES the controls. When I had a xbox it was soo easy to control my guy one CS because of the controller now I have to look around on my keyboard to find duck/jump shoot/zoom etc...

Don't worry. Play enough PC shooters and you'll quickly learn what all the buttons do without having to look.

Not to forget using a gamepad won't come close to the speed and accuracy you'll get when you get used to a keyboard and mouse.

No kidding... you can do on the dime turns with the mouse :)

I never want to go back to a controller for a shooter again.

I loved Area51 for quite some time on PS2, and it almost got me into FPS games on console. The problem is it's far too inaccurate in the later levels to be any fun. At one point I duck out of the cave, some guy throws a grenade and I get shot by a sniper. On PC, I would simply duck out, shoot the sniper, duck back in, wait for the grenade to explode, then pop back out and kill the grenade guy. On the PS2 on the other hand I jump out, try to aim somewhere nearby the sniper, miss every single time (it's a sniper, after all) and get blown up. I can try to take down the grenade guy, but that means jumping out, aiming at his last known location, empty the magazine on the machinegun and hope I hit at least something and duck behind a rock before I get shot too many times by the sniper. And that's not even mentioning all the other enemies in that area alone. ;) (but I am sooooo getting Area 51 for PC!)

I was gonna make a new topic about Counter Strike, but I saw this one instead. Does anyone here play Counter Strike Source? I was just curious.

I play CS:S on rare occasion, but I prefer not to get owned :lol

I play DoD:S more often, and plan to play much more often once I get my recently ordered computer parts in.

Call of Duty and Battlefield 2 are soooo much better than Counter Strike. I tried CS:S at my friend's house and told him to throw it into oncoming traffic (Billy Madison quote)

:o

Counter Strike Source is AWESOME..... I'm not sure how anyone couldn't like it. I'm sure there are people out tehre... but you thought it was that bad? You must not have got into it or played if very much *yes, I am assuming*

I'll be honest... I didn't like it AS MUCH as Action Quake 2 (back on the original Counter Strike MOD release... before it was sold), but that only lasted a few days. Once I got into it... I liked it just as much as Action Quake 2.
