CYRSIS Demo is up

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
It's been up for a while, but luckily my PC can run this beast. I have to say, this is one of the most insanely detailed FPS's I've seen in a good while. The system requirements are pretty scary on top of that.

You play as this US Government secret super-soldier who's on a stealth mission with his team in the year 2020 with this sleak battle uniform that can enhance your speed and strengths.

The control setup has a bit more variety than your traditional FPS with more options for your gun, your armor, and abilities. Like when to add a silencer, what part of your suit you wish to enhance. (Jump height, Run speed, your throwing strength, etc.)

It does have a bit of survival horror elements at the start of the game, so I need to play a bit more when I get back.

Other than that, I can't wait till this comes out on 360. :)

Yeah, graphics look good. I've heard mixed opinions on the game play and story though. I'll try it out when it comes to the PS3 though.

I heard the AI, of all things was bad. Bad AI, in a Crytek game. That right there makes me immediately want to skip this one. It makes me think they were focusing on graphics too much because AI is always top notch in their games.

yeah the AI is bad i played it at my friends and he showed what the ppl i in xplay did and they where playing this and had got a tank stuck on rocks and it couldnt fire or something

then he did that the same way

...the ai is horrible but it looks amazing

From what I have seen I'd say the AI is pretty good. I mean, they take cover behind rocks, flank me, and are overall pretty hard to kill. I'd say the AI is pretty much identical to Far Cry. All I know is I have been having a ton of fun with the Crysis demo and I will definitely be buying it. Sometimes the graphics look so real it's downright scary :o

The AI's not awesome, but they're smarter then you're average bear, er, AI. They usually search out for cover, etc.

The thing is that stealth really messes with them, as I don't think any AI is really built to handle invisibility.

The AI's not bad, but when you're playing on Delta (hardest difficulty), you either get a headshot or you're dead. It takes at least a full magazine to their chest to take one down.

Oh, and apparently fabric berets are 100% bulletproof, they just fall off easily.

The words Crysis and then a console name close by doesn't make you laugh?

Well, I do think a 360 could run it, but it would be very, very ugly and there would be tons of slowdown {think morrowind on original xbox}.

Crysis won't work on a 360.

It would have to be re-worked and dumbed down to hell. In other words, you'd have "Crysis: Instincts".

:lol Good point!

EDIT: Just read an article and Crytek says there is absolutely no chance they will bring Crysis to consoles. In their own words, "it would be impossible". But...they also said future games will no longer be PC exclusive {due to piracy}, so I guess that's some good news for the console side.

Almost everyone thinks that's a load of crap, dropping exclusitivity due to piracy, I mean. They showed the graphics as the best thing since sliced bread, and only people with top of the line computers (and I mean absolute top, you know it's bad when people make jokes that NASA can't run the game without stutter) can play it like that for the next 2 years.

Hell, they even locked off the absolute highest settings because they knew the majority of people couldn't get them with current hardware.

They just can't man up and admit that they released a game that nobody could play the way it was shown.

Haha, yeah, can anybody even access that "very high" setting at this point? I just figured it was locked on my PC because it is pretty weak.
