Yeah, it's not much. But it's just funny that Eidos made a big deal about dropping GCN support and now they are making games for it anyway. *^_^*

Its just because their income has been bad.  Seriously... http://cube.ign.com/articles/548/548332p1.html

September 15, 2004 - Eidos, the independent UK game house best known for bringing the world Tomb Raider, recently announced its financial results for the year, ending June 30, 2004. The company reports a year-end 2.9 million pound net loss, with sales dropping 11.6 percent to 133.9 million pounds, or $241 million.

The company credits the falling numbers to weaker game sales in the United States, as well as lower-than-expected sales of high-profile releases such as Hitman: Contracts. The company moved the release of ShellShock: Nam '67 into September to give the new franchise "a better opportunity to deliver on its true potential."

Several factors may turn the tide for the company, however. Eidos recently announced Project: Snowblind, a futuristic first-person shooter in development for the PC, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. The title is currently expected to be released in early 2005, and is already generating buzz for its high-paced gameplay and impressive visuals.

Additionally, talk of Eidos being purchased by another company continues. While specifics have not been divulged, companies like Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, and Microsoft have been mentioned in the flurry of rumors as possible buyers.

We'll bring you additional news on the situation as it develops.

What Gamecube games are they making anyway?

I seriously wonder if Sony or Microsoft are paying companies / reviewers to trash Nintendo...... It would be an effective way to take Nintendo out. Msoft and Sony are in bed together.... Sony's laptop (and other divisions) collaborate with Microsoft all the time. It wouldn't be too unrealistic :)

I see someone's had their bowl full of paranoia this morning...

Maybe it's just that games like Hitman, and Shellshock, don't sell well on the GC.

Microsoft and Sony? I doubt it.

I think Nintendo and Microsoft is more likely. NOA and Microsoft are right next to each other in Redmond, WA. Like, literally right next to each other.

But I think the chance of either Sony/MS or Nintendo/MS is very unlikely.

As for Eidos, they are making making Get on Da Mic and Get on Da Floor for the Gamecube.

And stealth is right, Hitman and Shellshock wouldn't have done well on the Gamecube because IMO those are not the kind of games most Gamecube owners play.

Didn't they make Warzone 2100 for the PSX? They should make a sequel to that. I loved that game.

I don't know... Medal of Honor, Freedom Fighters, and Timesplitters 2 all sold well on the Gamecube.

And oddly enough.... Call of Duty is now coming to the Gamecube.

No one tries those type of games on the Gamecube....
True Crime sold well too.

I have to disagree...

Well, True Crime is a Player's Choice game now, so there's some merit to that.

I imagine if Rockstar were to put GTA on the 'Cube it would sell pretty well. Just like Tales of Symphonia selling so well because of a lack of rpgs on the GC, GTA would sell for lack of anything similar to it besides True Crime. Filling a void, if you will.

My point is that.... companies do not give Nintendo's system a chance... EITHER THAT... or they fail to advertise their game well enough and then blame it on Nintendo. I SWEAR this happens all the time.

Yeah.

Well you have to think that an industry that does the same stupid thing every year (releases a bunch of good games in Oct-December and then wonders why critically acclaimed games like Beyond Good & Evil did so poorly) and doesn't realize that it's hurting itself is also going to be the same industry that will try to find the easiest scapegoat when things go wrong. In this case, the scapegoat just happens to be Nintendo. I mean, it can't be a coincidence that companies already in financial trouble *coughAcclaimcough* were the first ones to announce that they were dropping GCN support. Companies like EA and Capcom and Namco, who are doing fine financially, have made no such announcements or proclamations.

so.. its been awhile... I haven't seen any eidos games for the GAmecube.... are there any developments?

No, Geist was by N-Space.

The only game I can remember by Eidios is Warzone 2100. Such a great RTS.

Warzone 2100 was for the PSX. It was an RTS where you could dseign your own vehicles and armored units. It was kind of basic though. You picked the type of wheels (wheels, treads, half-treads, hovercraft), The body (multiple tank bodies, and jet bodies), and lastly the turret, which could range from a command turret, to a missile salvo, to a gun turret. Lotsa fun for me. You could even go into a 3rd person type of view behind a a vehicle of your choice, and direct at your will. It was awsome using a command turret and directing them around.
