Sega Dreamcast Did I do good on this??

This afternoon, some guy came into my shop with a busted valve stem. He was on his way out of town and was in a time crunch. I told him no problem, ran it out back and popped in a new valve stem and he was on his way. Dude shaked my hand as he said thank you and lo and behold, a $20 bill was in the palm of my hand. I looked up in disbelief as he hopped in his truck and left.
Now, what to do with my newly aquired green?? Stick it in a jar for arainy day?? Nope. Invest it?? Nay nay. Save it for my kidlets?? When they turn 16, they'll need major coin to fill up their cars.
Nope. I did this:
I went to the local used book store and picked up D-2, Evolution: The World of Sacred Device, and Sonic Adventure.
Now as the question above implies; did I do good???

Never played D-2 or Evolution. Sonic Adventure was ok, I thought it could've been better, but for twenty bucks you did well.

Evolution is a kind of a cartoonish RPG. It's like Shemnue in that you can fully explore.
On Sonic, I wouldn't know. There is not a single scratch, and yet it doesn't play.
D-2 is a freaky kind of RPG. And in that too you can fully explore.
And it was only $15 for these games!! I bought a PS2 game as well...

Okay an update on the games, in case anyone wanted to know.
Evolution has it's highs and lows. The lows are it's like an overdone Japanimation type character look. Not like the cool stuff. But it's something that you can live with. The graphics are great. The towns have again a cartoon feel. But everything is crisp. And you basically can go anywhere and talk to anyone.

I have yet to get the chance to start D-2. So I'll just use what's on the back of the case to discribe it.
" This Terror-shrouded adventure takes you to a remote northern region of the Canadian mountains. Left stranded in a vast snowy landscape after a meteor strikes her airplane, Laura finds herself in a mountain cabin with a mysterious woman named Kimberly. Outside, horrifying creatures of alien origin roam the area as the two are left to fend for themselves."
The screen shots on the back are cool too.
The features promise "Gripping gameplay combines first and third person combat and exploration", "Over 30 gruesome monsters to fight against with the variety of creatures expanding as the story advances", Pilot snowmobiles, hunt for food and capture photos as you freely move about this frightening world", and "RealTime weather conditions recreate accurate snowfall, wind speeds and sources of light and shade."
I hope this will be good.
As for Sonic, it's a bust. The game refuses to work in my DC. So back to the store it goes...

Well, D-2 was the best of the bunch. All four disks had no scratches and the manual was without any creases. The case had a few scratches, but that's about it.
Evolution is missing all but the front title cover of the manual. The disk is well kept with a few very minor scratches. So far they don't disrupt the game play.
Sonic Adventure is back at the store from which I purchased it. I just threw in the towel on that one. I was a bit upset when I took it back, and found another for $15 instead of the $5 one I purchased. I asked why. Apparently when they priced the one I bought, they forgot the 1 in front of the 5. No big deal. I didn't buy it because they had put the disk that I returned back into their inventory, and didn't want to risk the same problem again.
The game I ended up getting after returning Sonic was MDK2. The cover looked goofy, and I wasn't sure about it. But their selection had gotten smaller since my last visit. And I'm not really interested in the Resident Evil series.
