Do you think Microsoft held back at E3 to prepare for TGS?

I don't think so. I think Microsoft's main target is North America. They've taken some steps to try and grab a bigger chunk of the Japanese market, but for all their media prowess they just don't understand Japanese customers.

I think they'll stick to their strengths instead of trying to improve their weaknesses. If the Japanese audience is going to change its view of Microsoft, it will do so for the games on the Xbox 360, not the TGS showing.

Yes but the TGS showing is where the Japanese public gets to see those games. I do think that they are trying to get the Japanese audiences because they want to become number 1. And it would be really hard for them to do that without that market.

The rumor going around is that Virtua Fighter 5 will be 360 exclusive.

If sega and Microsoft have been working on it then TGS is the time to unleash it. That game will sell 360s in Japan.
