Does It Really Matter Whether You Refill Your Ink Cartridges Yourself?

Hi All,

Does it really matter if you chose to refill your printer's ink cartridge by a local computer place,or does the manufacturer tell you it's not recommended because they just want you to keep buying their products for more and more profit?My printer is a basic "HP 3 in 1",if it's any help.

Kaz I'm going with a third option they tell you not to use refilled ones to help cover there butts from any sort of liabilty if something goes wrong. Also I just get news ones to it isn't really worth the hassle compared to just picking up a new one at walmart.
 
Some printers are set so that if you refill a cartridge, it will no longer recognize it.

It's best to make sure you have a printer that accepts cartridges that have been refilled before you try.
