DS online how-to...

Okay, I asked this question somewhere else and seemingly got blown off. Maybe this way it has the potential to be answered.

How can I successfully play games online with my DS and my DSL modem?? I admit that I am an idiot when it comes to computers and such.

My DSL modem has a wireless connection option, but I don't know if my DS is even compatible with this. And I don't even know if I need any software for this connection to even work.

Can anyone offer advice??

if you are saying you have a wireless router (a router that doesn't use wires to connect computers) then what you do is just go to your wifi settings which are located usually in the options or wifi screens, and select one of the four pictures representing a connection

if it is not a wireless router then you need a Wifi USB connector, to get it up and running you download a software disk that comes with the USB connector (or you can download the software from the internet) and then plug the USB connector into one of your USB ports,

after doing so go to your wifi connection options which are where I indicated before and at the bottom there should be a long box that says connect to Nintendo Wifi USB Connector (I don't know why everyone misses it) and when it says it is registering, look to your computer, say run USB configuration and you should get a box that pops up, when your see your DS name on the box, click your name and say grant permission and you should be able to connect to it everytime you plug in the USB connector

*takes breath

Um, okay. I guess the DSL odem will recieve a wireless router signal. I guess I have to poke around my computer to find the settings then...

do you have a wireless router? the router and the modem aren't one in the same
and the settings for configuration are in the Wifi Capable DS games

The modem has six lights. each are labeled. "Power", "DSL", "Internet", "Ethernet", "USB" and "Wireless."

It also has a small antenna on the back of the modem.

Again, I know how to turn on my computer, scan and delete viruses and spyware, and point and click my way to web sites. That's about it.

Maybe you did, but I didn't see it, BV. I figured that I had posted in the wrong topic because nobody said anything. Oh well. :-\

@Kirby, it's an ActionTec. It was supplied when I switched to the DSL.
