What is up with the DS online?  I want to see more online games for it... why aren't more online games out?

On top of that, I feel the Nintendo DS needs a headset with mic for voice chat.  I know the DS has a mic on the system... but I it is handy on the PSP for games like SOCOM.
Yes, I know the DS isn't LIKE the PSP.

Anyway... has anyone heard of more online games coming out?  So far I think there are only 5-6... and it hasn't changed much since Tetris and Metroid DS came out.

Post it up.

There's actually a nice list of them... I'll try to find it online later. :) As for that wish that I quoted, you may be seeing that happening really soon.
My friend bought a DS lite for his birthday this weekend and I went with him. When we looked at the headphone port, though, we saw it was right next to the mic port. Just like the regular DS... so I thought nothing of it until I saw the icon above it. It was an icon of a microphone headset :O

We may be seeing games soon that utilize it. The only problem is COPPA (Wikipedia it if you don't know)... so they'd have to restrict gaming to people over 13 which kills Nintendo's goal of easy fun multiplayer for all. But as long as all games don't do it I don't see why Nintendo should have problems.

Why would thye have to restrict? Cussing reasons?

You are talking about the headset input with the dataconnector, right? SEE.. the PSP has that... and I use the headset for Socom... the DS has the capability... and it would be cool to see them take advantage of it. It would be cool... you know? I just want to see more online games.

please drop the list when you have a chance.

I'm a little disappointed in the wifi so far, the only good one I've seen so far is tetris ds and even that is a bit limited

I think nintendo should have done a bit more beta testing on a few, let me give some examples

Animal Crossing wild world severely restricts online, you can pretty much just go to a town and do what you normally do, no minigames, no special events, and only two people can be in your house at a time, also it is hard to keep track of where everyone is and the chat is tedious

Metroid Prime Hunters has a mess of glitches and there is no penalty for disconnecting, so in my experience about half the time either someone is gliching or disconnecting
some glitches include trace being cloaked all the time, jumping inside objects, and an being frozen from anywhere on the screen

Mario Kart's snaking issue makes online 9/10 a one sided race, (for those who don't know about snaking it is constantly boosting from side to side which can put you so far in the lead it makes it impossible for other players to catch up)

I can explain those, being an MPH vet. xD

1. No penalty for disconnecting? Yes, there's a penalty for disconnecting. You get a loss, and you lose points. Also your connection history goes down. There are ways to disconnect without penalty but those aren't often used, and are hard to come by. The best way to do this is to walk away from your router's range. If you can't do this, follow these steps:

A. Power off.
B. Go immediately to Multi-Card play (do not accidentally click anything else or it will not work).
C. Click Battle Mode.
D. Do a bot match, you can set it to 1 kill if you wish.

That'll erase the disconnect from your record.

2. Trace being cloaked all the time is not possible. Now, if you played on the map "Celestial Gateway", there is a lighting glitch that causes your opponents (or even you) to go invisible. You can still see their shadow, though. Now, if you were to shoot them it would still kill. Remember that.

3. Jumping inside of objects occurs usually in Combat Hall, and it has to do with walls. Basically, you use a missile to push yourself into a wall, and then you can fire at everyone with an impenetrable fortress surrounding you. If someone does this, walk away from your router to safe disconnect.

4. Being frozen from anywhere... that's the good ol' Shadow Freeze. You see, when the developers created Noxus's freezing, they gave it a horizontal distance cap, but left the vertical freeze unlimited. So people can look straight down and freeze people using the unlimited vertical distance. Some say it's cheap, some say it's awesome... I'm kinda in the middle. I don't use Noxus, and I can beat most SFers, but still.

I was a bit confused about the disconnect, do you get a loss if the other people disconnect is what I meant to say

I'm not saying the MPH is the worst game ever, still some of those glitches could have been removed had the developers spent more time testing it, which would have improved the online immensely

OHHH I see. No, you don't get a loss if they disconnect; rather, nothing happens in terms of wins/losses. Your "games played" does not go up.
