DSL or Cable?!

Tommy V

I'm Not So Bad, Once You Get To Know Me.
So yesterday AT&T calls me asking if I'd like my DSL upgraded to their new 3.0. The lady I spoke with said it would only be $19.99 a month if I sign a new 1 year deal. I told her I was actually paying $26.95 a month on my current contract, she looked it up and saw that I was right so she offered to credit me next month for the difference this month plus upgrade my speed. I said HELL YEAH! :D So now I'm paying like $7 less but getting twice as fast service. Can't argue with that. :D My download speeds are already up. I used to download at anywhere from 150-180 KBS now it looks like I'm at around the 320-330 KBS mark. BOOYAH! I'm kinda glad I resisted the cable temptation. I've had my DSL for about 3 years new and am very happy with the service I've had.

So what does everyone else have here?

I have roadrunner cable...on a good day i download at 700+ kbs on a bad day about 500 kbs...once it even went down to 475 kbs..crawling

Verizon DSL.......theyve already started upgrading to fiber optics around here, i dont know if theyll come to my area or not

SBC Dial-up

One of the fastest dial up services I've ever seen... like, ever. Some webpages load up at least twice as fast on this thing than my cousin's cable.

Quest DSL. I have no idea the average download speeds, but I'm at 300+ KBS or so when I watch videos. And they always load like greased lightning fast.

My brother has cable. Some here knows the provider ( :lol). He claims he can download like 1MBS. I think he's nuts. But he also has to share his connection with the peopel who live nearby. So when everyone's online, his speeds dwindle to almost laughable speeds. And mine's dedicated. :D

*shrug*

I pay $0.00 a month. I popped in a wireless card and just jump on the nearest unsecured wireless network.

I have road runner cable, usually, since my roomate usually takes his share of the bandwith (1-2 continuous downloads) I'm usually loading at 500 KBS, but I've been able to get up to 700 before
