I like the idea of the Wii U. I'll be the first to admit that I still don't really get it. I do think their two-screen model for a system could very well be the future though. Their philosophy behind "same living room, separate screen" for multiplayer is something I can really get behind. But until I see how it actually functions and works, I can't say for sure that it's something I have to shell out a couple hundred bucks for.
Tomb Raider has been the most impressive game I've seen so far. Everything else seems like a spinoff of Uncharted; 3rd-person shooter that moves from gameplay to cutscene with detailed animations. Tomb Raider at least seems to add a lot in terms of story, setting, characters, and even gameplay But honestly, I'm getting a little tired of every single game being a variation of the same thing: kill enemies. All this technology and sidescrolling Mario's goal of traversing an obstacle course (platforms) is still one of the more original, novel ideas on display. More realistic/stylized kill animations just aren't doing it for me anymore; I'm starved for something different.
Anyone seen anything so far that might scratch that itch. The Heavy Rain guys seem to be coming up with something neat...
