F.E.A.R. Direct2Drive

Hey, can anyone vouch for Direct2Drive as being worthwhile? I've been thinking of picking up FEAR over it (The game + both expansions for $30 is a steal). The reason I want it over D2D is because digital purchases are my new thing at the moment, I love Steam to death. Not having a box or manual is a bummer, but frankly not having to worry about losing CDs, CD keys, or having the disc in to play the game beats those out big time.

So, should I get it over D2D, or just pick it up in a store?

*Edit* Also, D2D says their FEAR download won't run on laptops, which is what I intend to play it on. My specs are well above recommended for FEAR and its expansion packs. So is this an actual technical limitation or would I be clear to play it on my laptop?

I've used it for my Final Fantasy XI, yes it is legit and such.

As for not playing on laptops, I've never even heard of something like that before. :-\

Under known issues, it says laptop computers not supported... Anyone know about this?

Not sure... but I don't understand why it wouldn't be supported for laptops...

and is there a reason you want Direct2Drive instead of Drive2BestBuy? the platinum edition for F.E.A.R. is $20 at Best Buy now.
FYI... when I went to the link, I received a message stating this game is not available for Direct2Drive yet.

Actually yeah, I checked last night, and the game isn't on D2D anymore. And I saw it was $20 just the other day :)

But the reason I wanted it over D2D is because I like the convenience of not having to worry about CD Keys and having the discs to play. Not a huge deal, but it looks like I'm out of a choice now :p
