Fallout: New Vegas

Didn't see anything recent on it, so figured I'd start a topic. Just started playing the 360 version yesterday evening. I was hesitant to start playing even though it was my most anticipated game this year, because of all the bug reports-- I didn't want to start playing and get drawn in just to start over; thought I might just wait for the patch (I'm hearing a 360 patch WAS released this morning?). Anyways, couldn't resist so fired it up. Luckily, not too many problems, very enjoyable game so far, though only played for a few hours. I did have some enemies stuck in the landscape-- particularly radscorpions on/near the railroad tracks; they all seemed to fall down a bit below the ground level. Also had a few neutral characters turn hostile for no apparent reason or action on my part... standing there friendly one second, to trying to off me the next. I love the atmosphere of the game; very good world to explore. Only gripe would be that it is not a world you can explore easily at a low level-- deathclaws and many other enemies really mean business this time around, even on very easy.

UGHHH, I want this game! I have the money but the 360 version isn't here yet! At this rate, I may see Fable 3 here before Fallout New Vegas and might just buy that instead...

Might not be a bad idea; I never thought I'd say this, but if I had to make a choice right now (I preordered both) I'd go with Fable 3, just because the glitches are such a huge issue; then, get FO:NV after they fix it. If they were fixed already I'd say FO:NV for sure, but I'm really not sure how much this first patch corrected. Apparently it did fix an infinite caps glitch, but I'm more worried about the game breaking ones.

It is a much harder game all-around than FO3 from what I'm seeing-- for example, if you don't have the required speech skill, you have NO chance to pass speech challenges. As I mentioned, the world is a lot less open because of difficult enemies (there are also invisible walls). The world does seem more real and less depressing than FO3, however. I just wish they gave the main character more backstory though; maybe you learn more later, but I'm having trouble getting attached to her like I did my FO3 one at the outset.

i got this on launch day and havent noticed any bugs so far. Its not much of an improvement. shoulda called it Fallout 3: New Vegas

That's actually what it is and the reason why it's not Fallout 4. Just like GTA: Vice City and San Andreas.

I figured as much. Im not knocking the game in any sense. If you likes FO3 then you'll like New Vegas. It appears as though there are more quests and having a giant new wasteland to explore is fun too. I kinda wish they would make the manual aiming a little less clunky but that would make it a little less rpg-ish.

I need to start over. I managed to get just about every faction to hate me so it makes it a little tough to get from point A to point B without hit squads murdering me every time i turn the corner

The game's alright. I'm about 20 hours in. The wasteland is as big as the expanses of Fallout 3 and aiming down your sight is a welcome addition. Everything just feels better. The characters are more interesting, the story is better, and the Easter eggs you get with the Wild Wasteland perk are often times hilarious and totally out of left field. I recommend this to anyone who liked Fallout 3.

However, I couldn't make it more than 5 hours in Fallout 3 without getting dreadfully bored. This on the other hand, actually makes me want to play it.

I love this game, hate glitches. to many glitches at times, had times where my character would be stuck in attack mode and keep attacking, game crashes at the worst times, especially when your walking around had the game just freeze and had no save except the last time I left, also on the ED-E My Love Quest, make sure you don't talk to Old Lady Gibson before you get ED-E if you do talk to her before that he simply ignores her, and it's frustrating to say the least.

I've had 1 glitch that made me reload a save. I was expecting many more after reading what everyone was saying. I'm loving it.

ditto. Ive only had to restart the game once and besides it freezing one time i have had no other kinds of bugs bothering me. I have it for ps3 if there is a difference between consoles' versions
