Vote for the KOF that you feel is the best overall game for the CD system, take into consideration load times, graphics, music, and playability. In other words if you could only own 1 KOF game on the CD system which one would it be?

Please explain why you picked the one that you choose.

I chose KOF 96, because it has excellent graphics for its era, a great roster of characters (some of which have not appeared since ie..teh Boss team), Wonderful music that greatly improves upon the AES/MVS version, and the characters have the best move list imho than any other KOF title. Also 96 was the first KOF to start the "new style" of play with combo registering and moves that were easier to pull off (example..the AOF team has much easier moves than they originaly did). Athena's Psycho Soldier song helps it win the top spot in my mind as well ;D

94 is the only one I've got on NGCD, but I've got the other ones on Saturn, and would say that KOF96 is my favorite

my favorite is between 97 and 99... but I cannot decide between them  ::D

I love both of those games on the Neo CD.
I don't care about the loads.. I know they are long :lol

I'm curious as to how KOF 99 on the NeoCD stacks up to the Dreamcast version, KOF 99 for dc pretty much launched me into the SNK/Neo Geo world, and then following that for the first time ever I got an import game- KOF2001(I was supposed to get KOF2000 but thats what I get for shopping with the infamous BuyRite :D)

KOF 99 on NGCD is exactly the same as the Neo AES/MVS version. Its been a while since I played it on DC..but I know its different..it has a few more characters unlocked..maybe some changes in backgrounds too I think...I'll have to play it and get back to ya to be 100% sure.

EDIT: there are two KOF 99 games on DC...Dream Match 99 and kof 99 evolution. KOF Dream Match 99 is actually KOF 98 with redone 3d backgrounds. 99 Evolution also has different backgrounds from what I can tell...and appears to be censored as well..no blood or bounce.

So you would be much better off with KOF 99 on the NGCD if you want to play the game the way it was meant to be..ie just like the arcade...of course it has loading time though...but its worth it..great game to have ;)

Yea I remember they did those confusing name changes for the DC versions , I have Evolution, the real 99. The backgrounds are in 3D and they have a bunch of strikers you can unlock including seth and vanessa from KOF2000. For some reason I thought there was bounce but I'll have to double check.

I went ahead and voted '97.... because of better loads than '99.... but i love them equally really.

good stuff!

Same for me! the big G is the best videogame character ever.

I already had RBFF and RBFF2, but as soon as I heard that Geese was selectable in RBFFS, it just had to buy it too....... :lol
