:af What's your favorite Metal Gear Solid game for PS2? MGS3 is my fav. because of the great storyline and gameplay; and the additoin of CQC combat. I'm on my 4th playthrough right now. My second fav. is MGS2 because of great story. It sucks to play as Raiden sometimes; but he's an okay character.

I played MGS3 but never finished the game. The thing thing I was doing was battling it out with "The End." That guy is really annoying! He's like one of the most stressful bosses ever in a game. I beat him but I forgot how I did it since its been awhile since I played the game. I know the graphics in this is really good, state of the art. Go Konami! :D

MSG2 to me was crappy! I hated Raiden! He was nothing like Snake at all! Raiden is like the soft side of Snake, asking to many questions ! When I first started playing the game I thought I was gonna play with Snake the entire time but I got fooled and got crappy Raiden. I thought he was a girl at first. The story in this one isn't as exciting as the others.

MGS to me is the best out of the Playstation seris. I remember when I first got it on Christmas, I played the hell out of that game without a memory card. Eveything is just perfect! Storyline, graphics, characters, etc. MGS is one of my all-time favorite games.

Heh..its ok to make mistakes. You know you can edit your first topic and change that? Click on "Modify", its on the same line as your topic's title to the right. Btw don't double post either, that's spamming and we dont tolerate that.

I bought MGS 2 and attempted to play it. I'm curious if I got a trashed disc cuz it feels like it takes forever for it to load between rooms. It looks like an alright game, but I don't have the patience to wait for those loads. Anyone else have that problem?

Beyond that, I never played MGS 3. MGS is still my favorite though.

Hmm..tough decision....Let's see, Snake Eater- was the best looking, had the best bosses {both from a character standpoint and challenge}, introduced many new and cool gameplay elements, had cool characters in their prime from the earlier games, had a followable and semi logical story, and had the coolest weapons. On the flip side, Snake Eater had a really horrible camera scheme which wasn't helped by the fact that there was no radar at all. It wasn't a problem most of the time but it did lead to some frustrating moments. I really liked MGS2 alot and that one probably had the most impact on me, but the story was just too retarded for me to ever get into. MGS is really good, just not my favorite, maybe that's because me and my friends totally over played it and VR missions.

P.S. The boss fight with "The End" is one of my favorite battles of all time, I just liked everything about it.

I used thermal goggles to beat The End when I played on normal mode. When I was on hard I just changed the year on my PS2. I wish I hadn't cheated; then I could have fought him. BUt, that battle is hard as crap if you don't have the right equipment.

I had a pretty good strategy against the End. What I did was lay mines everywhere in the main area of the battle. Then I would get up into that giant tree right next to that main area. I just sat there up in the tree with the thermal goggles and watched him hit my mines, than I would snipe him. He was a piece of cake once I figured out that strategy.

This is for real...you know how when you save and quit and acts as if you are resting? Well if you are in the battle with The End....save and quit and if you wait like a day then when you play again it shows he dies of old age.

Umm..the loading in MGS2 isn't all that bad, maybe its your CD?

I kept getting shot at everywhere I went. I just laid there hoping he'd come to me.

Wow..that's pretty neat! Now I can beat him and not have to worry about chasing him, etc.

I hate the fact that you don't have the radar in MGS3. Grr..I literarry stayed in 1st person view.

Play Subsistence-it has the different camera, so it's much better then the original. You can do alot more stuff in Subsistence, too!!

I always thought the radars made the games too easy anyway. 3's about real survival!

I don't think it's about real survival...I mean, you don't eat a snake and a stamina bar feels up. :? But the game shows more with the food and stuff then the other games, which is pretty cool.....maybe they can put something like that into MGS4.

MGS was awesome, I still play through it every now and then.

MGS2 I absolutely hated at first...but then I had no money for awhile so I couldn't get any new games so I tried to play through this one. Found out after the first couple of hours of play it was actually a really cool game. I'll never play through it again, but it was cool.

MGS3: I keep meaning to get this, maybe I'll go pick it up today since it's less than $20 now, lol

So I guess the first one was my favorite, although I like Twin Snakes on the gamecube better, haha...a little different than the original MGS, but the graphics are a lot more tolerable for my old eyes now, lol

I liked the MGS, but I played MGS3 first, so the game wasn't that great....I might play through it for a second time after I beat Dirge of Cerberus. :D

Looks like everyone likes MGS the best. Without the radar it tended to get hard at times and forced you to use 1st-person view most of the game. If I wanted a 1st-person game I'd just go and get a FPS game. I'm not complaining or anything but it just made the game a bit to hard in some parts when you did need the radar. The imitation radar's they hate weren't so bad though.

I like not having the radar in MGS3..it was more fun, because sometimes you didn't know if there was someone behind the corner...

I understand that but to me some parts in the game you really did have to rely on a radar or something. I liked the whole eating to survive as well, made the game more realistic.

Would you have wanted to fight The End with a radar? I wouldn't, then the game wouldn't have been as challenging. It's better to not have the radar, because then the game is more engaging, which I like in games-In some games I can eat and listen to music while playing, but not with MGS3-you had to pay attention. That was more fun!!
