I'm at Ultamicia castle,but the game won't let me back in my airship.Am I doing something wrong,or have I reached a point of no return as they say?

It turns out that I beat it earlier anyway.I wanted back into my airship to go and stock up on Ultima's and Full-Lifes before fighting Ultimecia but I managed to beat her with the spells and junctions I had placed.Fr0dus Maximus said:
You've more or less reached the point of no return. It's possible to get back to your airship from Ultimecia's castle, but only if you completed the Chocobo side quest, and even then you can't go back to the full world, only select parts of it. It doesn't sound like you missed much for not getting back to it. ^^
