Well I finally started Fire Emblem!
Man, this game is addicting as all heck. I played last night for about 7 hours straight and then I played some more this morning. I'm surprised I haven't had to charge my SP yet.
It's fantastic. The storyline is interesting and makes you want to keep playing so you know what happens.
The battle system is really easy to learn. Basically, you control your team members, telling them where to move, who to attack, etc. It's kind of like FFTA except that where you are in relation to your enemy isn't as big a factor (ie you won't give more damage by attacking from behind like in FFTA). If you have a ranged weapon, though, like bow or throwing axes, you can't be right next to whoever you are attacking. If you have a melee weapon, this makes taking out archers easy, because all you have to do is be right next to them when you attack and they can't retaliate.
Probably the most troublesome thing is that when one of your party members gets killed in battle, you lose them forever. I have just been starting over from my last save file when that happens though, as I like to have all my people. I guess you might call that cheating but I don't think it is, really. In one battle I lost 4 people! There was no way I wasn't going to start over and try that again!
Anyway, I'm really glad I finally decided to purchase Fire Emblem. It's definitely worth it. If you liked FFTA you'll probably like Fire Emblem as well.
