Red Steel. Looks...interesting... *cough Duck Hunt cough*

*EDIT* This site has the screens in it. It also has alot of (funny) Nintendo bashing in it. So look at the pictures ignore the words :lol

Say what they want, but do you know how many people are like, "OMG! I loved that game!" when I wear my Duck Hunt shirt? Even if Red Steel is just a light gun game and not a true FPS, I'm pretty sure a lot of people would still go for it.

This game just looks like Time Crisis with prettier graphics. Don't get me wrong, Time Crisis was loads of fun, but Red Steel doesn't seem to offer anything we haven't seen before.

Bingo. For a console that preaches innovation, this isn't the right direction.

Wow. I'd think that a newer Duck Hunt would be cool.

And like GW said, you haven't even played it yet.

I'm not trying to bash the Rev. I don't like it. I think it will flop. But I'm trying to remain as unbiased as I can when discussing it.
I do like the prospect of all the older games being available for download. If priced low enough I'll probablly buy one.

But, I think Nintendo should step up to the plate and give out some info on the games. The games that they say have gameplay that beats out graphics. I'm not trying to be a graphics whore either. If I showed you my game "collection" you would see quite a few 2D games in it. Even on my 360 and Xbox. But I would like to see everything that Nintendo is flashing around put to use. Or at least apply what they have to tried and tre concepts. I want to see a sports game on the Rev. Or a racing. Or even a 2-d game. Something.

Hm. To me you seemed a bit biased in your unbiased opinion. Oh well. I personally think that the Revolution will be a success. :lol

And to those who say that Nintendo is competing or not competing, it realy doesn't matter. Because it's not like a car or truck, where a large chunk of one's monthly income will go towards that purchase. Nintendo is hitting the nail on the head when they say they aren't actively competing because many gamers will buy more than just one console.

Back to the topic at hand, I think if Nintendo does release a FPS that uses a light gun, then I think it will be a major success. Ever hear or Area 51?? Great arcade game.

You have not even played it yet!!!!!!

Look at the screenshots. It looks exactly like Time Crisis, and Area 51, and many other light gun/arcade games. One of the criticisms of the rev controller is that it is just a glorified light gun. Red Steel doesn't exactly discourage this arguement now does it?

I want to see a sports game on the Rev. Or a racing.

Exactly. Everyone immediately understood what the rev controller would mean for shooters, because you're pointing at the screen. Until we see some other genre on the rev I don't need to play the game to know what the game will be like, because I've played shooters like that before.

Well, not exactly like that, but pretty darn close.

I havent seen the screenshots or anything else in that link, but all I have to say is wait for E3 until we start claiming Nintendo is heading in the wrong direction. This is just one game. If they don't reveal anything there then let the complaining begin.

For the time being, it is the only game. Perhaps Nintendo should have chosen which game to unleash into the world more carefully if they didn't want anyone to assume they were moving in the wrong direction.

I saw some of the screens... very cool :)  Nintendo needs a few games like that!  Stealth.... come on man :lol
Hey... a glorified light gun is ok :)  as long as they sell it with a light gun as well (that looks like a light gun).  More-over.... at least you don't have to buy a light gun (for those that don't want to).

Alas.. the original link that is above works.... BUT the link to the screens of the game doesn't.

I found the game via other means though.

The game actually looks better than I thought the rev would do.  I didn't have high expectations for visuals.... but I am going to say that this is looking pretty nice.

Nowhere do I see Nintendo having a hand in revealing this title, only Ubisoft. Once again it's just one game. We can't judge a whole movement on one game. If they don't reveal any other games at E3 or any games that actually make full use of the controller in an innovative way then even I will start complaining about the lack of direction.

Target's 2 cents on nintendo...

Nintendo is an AND system. "I have an x-box AND a Nintendo" or "I have a ps2 AND a Nintendo" I can't name a person that only has a nintendo I also can't name a person that has more than one console and doesn't own a nintendo.

Solely talking about Consoles now - Nintendo is ran more like a business than sony or microsoft. Nintendo seems to always make a profit. They have nothing to prove, they are solely responsible for breathing life into a dang near dead recreation (home video games were dieing and atari nearly killed it). So while you've got Sony and Microsoft Fighting and scratching and clawing trying to come out with some sort of innovation or releasing buggy crap trying to put things out at break neck speed charging more and more for their games and systems nintendo is just sitting back doing what it does best.... putting out games the masses will enjoy and be able to afford.

Nintendo won't screw up, if it's a game that looks like everything else it doesn't matter... there's going to be something about it people will buy anyway and it'll be fun as all get out. There's been more mario sequels then malnutrition in 3rd world countries and we still play em, and they're still fun and addictive... and in 10 years when we're playing mario party 12 billion we'll look back and realize that nintendo signed a deal with the devil or something and can do nothing but excreet tiffany cufflinks

Make sure you guys check out the May issue of Game Informer. They have Red Steel as the cover story and it goes into a lot more detail. And guys, Game Informer hates Nintendo but yet they love Red Steel. It's definitely promising.

Well if it's anything like Time Crisis I'd enjoy it. :lol

I know I've barked up a storm in here, but I like these types of games (or the type of game I think it will be). But these types of games are the obvious genre for the Rev console, so it is dissapointing to find out about this game first. It would be better if it came with some kind of light gun peripheral akin to the motion sensor on the Rev remote. I'd still feel like a bit of a tard wavin that thing around...
