I have a few q's for you all, and I hope many members can participate... I could use the help :)

please be honest, and don't worry... I won't bite your headoff or hate you :lol

what do you think is good and bad about the store?
what do you think should be improved or changed? what would you personally like to see?

I am trying to get a feel of people's opinions... and to see what can be / should be done. IT can be international or domestic sales / interests...etc. IT can be layout, functionality..etc...

it can be on sales, prices, shipping, items, or whatever.

thanks in advance to all who post up.

Everything's fine to me in my opinion BV. I'd just like to see a little more of a selection, but I know you have your reasons for not having much more right now. :)

Everything is cool? product.... prices..etc?

More selection as in what?

Actually... we have 820+ items on cart... that is a decent amount, I thought... but how much of... and what do you think would be better?

Everything's fine. Products, prices, etc. :)

You know what might not be a bad idea though? Is ordering a bunch of games that are soon to come out that you know people are pre-ordering from stores and the games you know will be hard to find after the first day. Like around here, there's not a Kingdom Hearts 2 in sight!

A little more selection with the Xbox games would be nice.

I like everything else though. Great job BV. :)

I hope I wasn't harsh on anything. :-\

More systems! For instance..I would like to order Sega CD/SNES/Turbo Duo games, but have no way to play them.If people saw that you had the systems for sale then they might be enticed to buy a package type deal like "buy a system and two games get one free/half price whatever..that's just what I would like to see though.

that is a great suggestion... I am working on that.... but you hit the nail on the head there. It's hard to keep systems in stock at times.

About the Xbox items... I am trying to get more... especially have people trade them in... but since prices are dropping, more people are buying than trading... and when they trade, they think they are getting lowballed... but the prices are dropping as such.... Prices are just going to continue to fall as well... now that the 360 it out and the Xbox is nearing the end.

First and foremost I think the store site layout needs to be bolder and brighter. Secondly, I think you need to have some sort of enticement to keep customers coming back. Maybe something like a point system. You could do it like each purchase gives a set number of points and you could have items for sale through points instead of money. For example, buying a console would give 5 points, a new game 3, and used games 1 point. Than you could have a section of items that sell by points, like a new game would be 15 points and used games 10 points or something. That's just an idea but something along those lines would be nice. It would show you care about your customers and it would give you a major edge over the big guys I believe.

Also, telling them that if they join and submit reviews, cheats and codes, FAQ's, etc., that they would be worth different points as well.

I.E. Reviews - 5 pts
Cheats/Codes - 3 pts
FAQ's....

Good idea x2 :)

thats what i was thinking

you should try to get more consoles

Yea strubes! good thinking. I like the store selection, you do indeed have some very hard to find games. I also like how you give good pics and descriptions of each game, that's a nice touch. After going through the site I see the layout is actually pretty good, I just think a brighter, more in your face homepage would add some pizazz to the site. All in all I say it's well done though.

1st off... thank you all for your suggestions.. please keep them coming :) It is much appreciated.

homepage... do you mean the main page: www.egameaddiction.com
or the mainpage of the store: www.egameaddiction.com/store

I thought the store was decent graphics wise... it has a little... while not too much... so it's friendly for 56k users.. hell... even my small pics I use, I do some stuff to keep those friendly as well.
I mean.. it could be better... and I have plans for the future... but I have to get other things up and running 1st. IF you are talking the homepage www.egameaddiction.com, I'm working on that too... not sure which direction to go on it... so all the comments on that will be taken into account as well :) I am going to make 3 buttons for the right side... one that is for the store, and trad-ins... and another, I forget.... it is a little bland right now... not sure how to correct that. That template is custom made ... and it took me a while to get it right as is :lol

The point system... I'll keep that in mind. That would be very hard to get a system in place to do that... I would consider it. I am working on a mod that will allow the reviews to remain anonymous. Righ tnow, it lists their name. some people don't like that. BUT.... the main goal is to drive more sales to support this site.... not so much getting more reviews..etc. Maybe I am wrong, I don't know of another business out there that offers points for games (or cash) for their reviews..etc.

I appreciate your thoughts.. keep it up :) If anyone else has input, please drop it here.

BV..I was talking about the stores main page. I mean, I like the layout of it, I just think it may look better with brighter colors such as yellow, orange, bright green, etc. I think some artwork would add a nice touch too, maybe something at the top of the page like a mix of popular game characters, or even all the systems you represent. Pricing seems excellent to me, you actually sell pretty cheap compared to some other game stores.

will work on that.

Then riddle me this... if we are cheap compared to others, why is it harder to get things out? Honestly, I know I have a good stock.. in fact, of items many others don't carry, won't carry, and can't get.

You must get the word out!!!Banners, and such..I just left Game addiction a perfect review on this index of video game stores...what else can I do?

BV..I cannot answer that question. If I had to make an honest guess, it would maybe be that people just don't know about your store. It could also be the fact that a major chunk of game sales go towards mainstream games, thus bought by gamers who are just fine buying from wal-mart, gamestop, eb, etc. Your selection is great for rare stuff, but it's a little short on new/er games. I believe if you could get a bigger selection of new and mainstream games, but sell them cheaper than the other guys, sales could increase.

Your site is great. It's more geared towards collectors though. When a game comes out I want it and I want it that day. All the kids around here are the same way. If a game is scheduled to release on a tuesday and several stores won't have it until wednesday I'll call around and go out of my way if i have to just to get that game tuesday instead of wednesday. For example, I preordered Oblivion from the local Rhino games. Rhino wouldn't have the game until wednesday. EB got it on tuesday. I went to EB and got the game and happened to see the freggin kid that worked at rhino buying the same game from EB as well.

Ever since I stopped collecting and just am trying to keep up with the times I haven't bought anything from you (heck, I still think I got a gift certificate from your store for a review contest at least a year ago), which I feel bad about but rest assured if I ever start a collection back up your on top of my check list. Just if there was a way you could have the new games in my mail box on that tuesday I'd buy every single new game purchase from you. Collection wise you're still my Ace!

you know.. you may have hit something there.

I originally started my store... and collectors were my main customers. Now thinking about it.. .there aren't many collectors anymore. I tried getting cheaper games (IE games that weren't complete..etc.. that would be more for the people that just wanted to play)... and htat worked for awhile. I wonder if last year... the majority of people have changed from collecting to doing what you are doing.... IE a shift in the market. It used to be all about the collectors, but I think you hit something in what you said. It might not be about the collectors anymore.

There is absolutely no way to get the game on the day of release. EVEN order direct from the distributor (not wholesaler... I was ordering like Eb games would for awhile)... it would be a great day if I got the releases the day it was supposed to be released. I don't get why it's that way. That's a problem I've been aware of since day 1, but it's a problem I have no control over. I can get them the day after no problem.

hey could you make a banner with a link to the site that people could put up on their myspace pages or other pages like that

Blue,

I figured as much, I mean if chain stores sometimes can't get them until the day after I got no clue on how you'd be able to swing that.

But yeah, it seems like there's a lot less people collecting now, I mean look at me. at one point in time i had 3/4's of the atari 2600 games ever made, amist many many other things, and i've sold everything.
