Games Nintendo Should Make, But Never Will

I was thinking about this in the shower this morning (I don't know why), but I've talked about what I want to see in the next Zelda game (http://www.egameaddiction.com/forums/index.php?topic=7308.0) knowing full well it will probably never, ever happen. I still hope someday Nintendo will come to their senses, and whether or not they do make that game I still think they should.

I also think a mature themed Pikmin would be sweet. Replace the flower children with soldiers, either realistic or fantastical, so long as they wielded swords or guns instead of flower pedals. I think something in that line of thinking has a lot of potential, but if it doesn't make a 4 year old giggle and clap their hands, Nintendo won't take the series in that direction.

Anyway, just post up any Nintendo games you'd like to see, but know you never will.

Futuristic Zelda would be awful, Pikmin without flowers would be no fun.

nintendo can make whatever they want (looks at disaster...being very suprising that they even announced a game with a theme so serious). but a futuritic zelda would be stupid.......i mean think about it, it would loose it's "solemn" feeling, what i want in the new zelda is the anwsers of why WW is flooded.

as for pikmin....no...just no....being the only good last gen console RTS i wouldn't like them to change it to a bunch of soldiers (leave that to batallion wars, but leave the flowers to pikmin). and why would they change it? the fact that looks kiddy doesn't make it a bad game at all.

once again i completely disagree with you stealth toilet, i just don't see how more mature/futuristic games would be better than these ones, it's just the setting of the game, the important part is the gameplay.

but well the only thing i can think of nintendo might never do again is a sequel of majora's mask and being able to use the masks again.

It told you in the opening of Wind Waker, Link was off in Termina, so the goddesses flooded the land to hold back Ganon.

You're right, Nintendo would never do that! Oh, wait, Battalion Wars. >_>

I would like to see a new Pikmin. I like the pikmin games...

Dealing with other companies other than Nintendo:
but I think it would be cool to see another Ikaruga style shooter...
Or another Phantasy Star Online.
A new Armorines would be cool...
Or how about a remake of Tiger Heli from the NES :D

Phantasy Star Universe came out for the 360, actually.
Didn't see much on that game... I didn't know if it compared to the original PSO 1/2 games.

It's possible one of the two games Treasure is making for the Wii will be something like that.

Well, it is a sequel, but the reviews were not very good. Most critics viewed it as inferior to the original.
That's what happened with 3 as well... PSO 3 Card Rev wasn't too bad, but most people didn't like the card rev part.

They need to release PSO 1/2 plus on the DS.. that should be #1.

#2... I still wonder why they don't just create a game exactly like their old PSO series, make new levels, monsters, partly new story... and release it. I mean, it can't be THAT hard to take their existing loved concept and tweak here and there, rinse, and repeat.a

Who said anything about a futuristic Zelda? The one I proposed would actually be set in the past, before Link was even born. Although a futuristic Zelda could have some potential, but I think it would be so far removed from the franchise it might as well become a new IP entirely.

No, Battalion Wars was an abomination, and not at all what I think of when I say "mature themed Pikmin." If anything, Battalion Wars is the perfect example of why a mature themed Pikmin would never happen, because BW is about as close as Nintendo will get to showing anything remotely violent or war-like. BW would be closer to Pikmin if the object of the game was to explore an unknown territory, killing the native wildlife in order to harvest them for more minions/soldiers/subjects to do your bidding. But, as it is, BW was similar to Pikmin only in the sense that you had to micro-manage units, hardly an outstanding or unique parallel.

Besides, my ideas were just supposed to get the ball rolling. I really don't care if its a game you'd never want to play, what I do care about is hearing what games you would want Nintendo to make, but know they probably never will. For example:

Definitely has potential. The possibility of this game coming true exists, but Nintendo would need to work out their online framework first. If anything could challenge the persistent world of Azeroth, pokemon would probably be it.
