Games you play, and then keep playing

I was watching the Up All Night review of Halo 3, and they said something about that the real games are games where the developers can say people play, and keep playing, so I thought, "Let's make a list of those games." This isn't just a year or so after release, these games are playable five years from release. Feel free to debate any, too.

We all know Brawl will up Melee, just like we knew Halo 3 would up Halo 2. And, sure, I mean, personally, I couldn't play GoW for years, but ok, sure.
 
Are we talking about play constantly?

Cause that's not what I'm talking about. You'll eventually get the urge a year or so later after beating a GoW game to play it again and slaughter things.
 
I'm really not that sure. I mean, it doesn't have to be play constantly, but at least play within a few month gap.
 
i have come to the conclusion that im not gona trade games anymore unless they suck cuz i ALWAYS get the urge to play some games again and now that i have a decent job i think i can do that

dynasty warriors, lol fhq..... but im serious
 
What the guys said in UAN was that these are the games that ull never forget and never want to put down.

Also, I gotta wonder why God of War is up there. Even f you play it through several times a year, its still under 10 hours per playthrough, so I don't see anyone really playing it for all that long.

Definitely! Look how old some of those games are, and YES, I still play them REGULARLY... Especially Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Metroid/Super Metroid. Once I get an Xbox again, I'm sure Halo & Halo 2 will be regularly exercised as well...

Tekken Tag Tournament only leaves my PS2 if I'm playing Tekken 5, Soul Calibur II, Final Fantasy X or if I decide to play my old Playstation games on the larger TV instead of running them on the 19" my old Playstation is plugged into.

Secret of Mana 2 (Seiken Densetsu 3)

There may be a couple more, but games like MK64 and SoM2 I have played numerous times every year for the past 10 years.
