Right so i'm getting a gaming Laptop and these are the parts i'm getting

Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-820QM Processor (1.73GHz,4 Cores/8 Threads,turbo up to 3.06GHz, 8MB Cache)

Operating System: Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit

HD Display: 15.6 " Full HD (1080p) WLED (1920 x 1080) Display with TrueLife

Memory: 6GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM (1 x 2GB + 1 x 4GB)

Hard Drive: 500GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive

Optical Drive: Slot Load 8X DVD+/-RW Drive with DVD+R double layer write capability

Video Card: 1GB DDR3 ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5730 OR 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260M

Batteries: 9-cell Primary Battery

Is this good enough for a gaming laptop? i know people say get a desktop if you want to game but the only thing desktops have over laptops is they are alot more flexible when it comes to upgrading but i personally think there's nothing wrong with getting gaming laptop.

It will cost about $2887 i'm willing to pay that as long as those parts are good enough to play the latest games.

I'm also thinking of getting razor speakers and a razor mouse down the track for the laptop so just wondering whats the razor brand like?

Razer mice are good. I prefer Logitech gaming mice.

That looks like a solid build that will last you several years. I do have one suggestion though. Since you're already spending so much, consider getting a drive that can read blu-ray disks. It won't be long 'til we have some PC games coming out on Blu-ray instead of multiple DVDs. Besides, you have full HD support, so could also use your lappy to watch movies.

Thanks Grindspine :) good to know that is a solid build but i just got a couple of questions

1.Which video card do you think would be better 1GB DDR3 ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5730 OR 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260M? (Note that the 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260M is an extra $124.30)

2.Would this build be able to play Crysis on High? because ive always wanted to play it but the computer we got at the moment can't even run the game.

3.I'm getting the Laptop from the Dell site just wondering if i payed monthly how much interest would they charge?

I just added the Blue Ray it's an extra $238.70

K after adding the Blu-Ray it's about $3,049 now so not to bad.

I don't know about the interest that would be involved on a payment plan.

Though I am partial to nvidia cards, Direct X 11 could be an issue. The 260 only has DX10 support. The Radeon 57xx has DX11 support.

As far as Crysis on high, check www.systemrequirementslab.com

Speaking of Crysis, it's on sale on Steam:

http://store.steampowered.com/sub/987/

Recommended system requirements:
Supported OS: Windows XP or Windows Vista
Processor: Intel Core 2 DUO @ 2.2GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
Memory: 2.0 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS/640 or similar

Yeah Steam is where i plan to get alot of my games i'm very excited to check out the Penumbra series can't wait to play it in the dark with head phones hell maybe i will play it outside in the dark lol.

May I ask where you're getting this from and what brand it is? Seems really overpriced compared to other "desktop replacement" gaming laptops I've seen.

I'd suggest looking at Sager laptops. For a while they used much higher-quality parts than Alienware, cost far less, and both companies used chassis from the same manufacturer. My recent PC Gamer mag seems to indicate that these still hold true.

I got the laptop from Dell and it's AlienWare it's really good and so far has held true to what it can do except Crysis i seem to be having a bit of trouble running it smoothly at the moment i'm trying to figure out how to get out of Stealth Mode.
