I recently got Gradius V. I have been playing Gradius for a long time. It seems like this is the best and its true. The graphics and shooting sound is amazing and cant forget the music. Some people told me R-Type Final is better. I go against that. I think Gradius V is better. Please tell me your opinion.

Aren't these games the same? I know they're shooters but what's the difference between the two?

R-Type Final is painfully slow. If you want to play the best R-Type.. snag R-Type Delta for PSOne.

So ow many R-Types were there anyway?? I have the original R-Type on my Sega Mastersystem. I still enjoy playing it even though it's a frustrating game.

There are 7 R-Type games, although 2 of them are gaiden (alternate stories that aren't part of the main storyline).
The primary 5 parts are:
R-Type
R-Type II
R-Type III: The Third Lightning
R-Type Delta
R-Type Final
The other two which aren't associated with the main story are:
Super R-Type
R-Type Leo

r-type final is my favourite space shooter and space shooters are probably my favourite genre! i have gradius 3 and 4 for playstation 2 but its way too hard! i never played gradius 5 but i want it sooo bad!!! i cant say whether it is better but it will be hard in my opinion to get better than r-type final! silpheed is also really awesome and r-type delta is cool too!
