I thought that title went to Halo 3?

EDIT: Read the article. I'm surprised. Looks like GTA's popularuity outdoes Halo.
 
I think the entire system is buggered.

Comparing it to a movie that is opened in more places, compared to a book that was released the same day around the world and in multiple versions, compared to a video game. On comparison it seems that the videogames have the most limited group to sell to while the movie and Harry Potter had ample opportunity to sell to a more larger group that didnt have to have either a 300 dollar plus console.
 
I would say this is a great boom to the gaming community. If a game can outsell the other forms of entertainment with one installment, these people who still think of gaming as a fad will soon shut up and they should accept the fact that gaming is the next big deal.

But wait..what movies did it outsell? I thought the record is for the fastest selling video game, not the fastest selling media entertainment?
