What kind of surgery was it? Was it successful? How scary was it? How long ago was it? Did it make u feel less afraid of future surgeries or of death or anything like that?
My youngest daughter had surgery when she was 5 months old and they cut her scalp open from ear to ear and slid her scalp back and then removed most of the top part of her skull. This was because she was born with her skull fused together, with no soft spot like baby's heads are supposed to have. So, her head could not expand sideways at all as she grew, it could only grow forward and backward like a football shape.
They nicked an artery open in her head while doing the surgery, but fused it shut again before she lost too much blood.
It was really scary cuz she was justa little baby and u feel very helpless, and afterwards her head sweklled way up like a fat round head instead of a narrow thin face like she had previously had. And for a long time she had to wear a baby bike helmet everywhere cuz if a toy er anytrhing hit the top of her head it would damage her brain. But thankfully her skull grew back over time and now she is healthy and normal
It was a scary experience and so stressful, but I think it makes u appreciate life.
Here are a couple pics of her from after the surgery, and then another of her later so u can see how she turned out.
I also, have almost bled to death before, but that was not a surgery, so that would be for a dif topic, but serious and major things happening sometimes has very deep impacts on people and how they look at life or what is important er what they value.
