One thing that I really like is that we can bump old topics and no one gets upset about it.

I remember there was this one Ezboard that I used to frequent and they would get pissed if you bumped a topic where the last reply before your post was even 2 weeks old. They believed it was better to start a new topic on the same subject than to reply to an old topic. I always thought that was stupid.

But here, if I start playing a game that everyone talked about months ago and I reply to an old subject about it, no one minds. It's kind of nice. *^_^*

Anyway, I know that's pretty random but I just thought I'd mention it. It's something I really appreciate.
 
No, I agree with you Mai. Otherwise we have tons of the same thread and that just wastes space and makes it harder to search through the boards for what you actually want.

I have to admit, I like that as well..

You should be able to go back and post up in old topics.

At the same time, I don't care if duplicate topics are made.... but there should be no reason anyone cannot bump old topics. Its cool to see as well :)
I like reading old topics. They are as good as new topics sometimes (another reason why I got this board so we can have ALLLLL of our posts archived and not have to send them to recycled topics, or delete them like on Ezboard). They will stay in their respective forums.

Thanks for the compliments though :) BTW... its a cool forum because of all of you....

I also agree, this forum is alot nicer than most forums, but like BV said that's because we are all cool and we all have something in common.
 
I think we're a very considerate bunch, well, as far as internet message boards go.

I also like when old topics get bumped, just to see what I said about it back then, and how my opinions have changed since. One of the ones I can recall regretting was one about alcohol or something like that. I remember taking a very firm stance against it for numerous reasons, but now I think I've mellowed out about a lot of things like that, and my opinion on it is very different. It's just funny to have a snapshot of my personality like that to see how it's changed since.
 
I would hate that.

I got banned once at a forum for 2 weeks for posting on a topic that hadn't been posted in for 5 days. AND the topic was stickied. :P

Yeah, that's what I mean. Maybe we posted at the same forum, Kirby! I swear, their policy made no sense whatsoever. Who ever heard of making a topic sticky and then banning people for posting in it? :lol
 
hey.... smf owns PHPBB for free.

IMO at least.... I love the SMF forums... and I doubt I would ever use anything else.
