Honey Comb cereal.... Question? (sort of rant)

I used to eat this stuff all the time when I was younger. I felt like getting a box the other day... I did... and I have 1 question to ask...

WHEN DID THEY START MAKING IT TASTE LIKE CAPTAIN CRUNCH?!?!

Honey Comb used to have it's own distinct taste. Now it's like they use the Captain Crunch mix to make Honey Comb.

Yeah, I agree... they taste horrid. I got one about a month ago for fun... and it was so bland...
 
Well, I think the sort of rant part is appropriate here :D . I have no idea. I haven't eaten honeycomb in years,b ut it was always my favorite cereal until I was about 10 when I started eating frosted mini-wheats for some reason. It sucks they taste like Captain Crunch now.
 
I never really liked it in the first place... but i do like Capn Crunch... so maybe i'll get Honeycomb for the fun shapes! :lol

even more ironic... a little more and it's derailed a bit :lol

ok... anyway... it is rather odd ball though. For some reason, I still really like frosted mini wheats and frosted flakes....

I still love Honey Comb. It's been a long time since I had it...so I guess I jus didn't notice the taste change. :-\

see... I haven't had it (PROBABLY) since high school. SO, I took my 1st bite and thought to myself WTH... Captain Crunch raided the Honey Comb and left his mark.

haha yea, Idk...maybe my taste buds have changed. :o

I'm not too sure. Lol I might grab a bowl now though...they're starting to sound good. :D

Ugh...Don't even make me think about those horrible Apple Jack commercials.
 
When I was little I used to love Corn Pops, and I think it had a porcupine on the box back then, but I was never big on Honey Comb..I wanted it really bad after seeing commercials for it as a kid, but then when I finally tried it, I did not like it much. I do like Cap'n Crunch though...so maybe Honey Comb tastes better now? lol
 
I was big on... Oh what was it called... Kix or something? Yeah, I think it was.

Then there was Life. Oh did I love those.

yeah they do... they even look more like it. They are more yellow... and opposed to an off-white color. The are more porous like captain crunch instead of smooth like they used to be. Odd ball stuff.

@ you both... :lol I like captain crunch... but dangit, why have captain crunch honey comb style? :) defeats the purpose of the cereal imo :lol

Kix was good too! I wonder if they taste like the captain as well :lol
 
That's why I stick with FiberOne. Always fiberish, never strays from it's nutritious taste.
 
I don't eat cereal, but once when I was little I had a box of captain crunch with mold all over it. It was promptly returned :P

Weird, I wonder how often in all history that has ever hapened. I mean, that sounds pretty strange.
