I can't believe its getting a sequel...50 Cent Bulletproof.

Listen, we could sit here and make jokes about how bad 50 Cent: Bulletproof was all day. We know it, Sierra knows it, and our poor reviewer, Robert Ashley, knows it. But Sierra also knows that the game sold like crazy, meaning a sequel was inevitable. In the May issue of EGM that sequel is revealed, and as you'll discover reading on here, there's reason to want to check it out.

Sierra has attempted to stop critics of the new game before they can start, beginning with handing the not-really-a-sequel off to a new developer, Swordfish Studios (which had previously worked on Cold Winter). The new game mixes third-person shooting ala Gears of War -- also running, in fact, on the Unreal Engine 3 -- with a "Gangster Fire" bullet time option ripped right out of Max Payne. Also featured are button-mashing quick-time events inspired by God of War. Online co-op play is promised by the team as well.

So the gameplay's not exactly unique-sounding, but any mix of well-received mechanics from other games has a high likelihood of proving better than Bulletproof. Where 50 Cent II's uniqueness really shines is the plot, which finds Fiddy and G-Unit stranded in an unnamed Middle Eastern country after a benefit concert goes awry. The rappers find themselves caught in the middle of a situation that cannot be solved by dope rhymes alone; cue the armory opening its doors.

50 Cent's latest virtual outing is being prepped for a release sometime this fall. Until then, enjoy this tease, and check out the May issue of EGM for a detailed preview with lots of exclusive screens.
