I finally got me a ps2

Bought it off a friend for cheap... $45 with 1 controller, 1 8mb sony memory card, a playstation carrying case and three games...

I then picked up Soul Calibur 2, Tekken Tag and a "jam pack" demo disk just to check out Silent Hill 4, Ghost in the Shell and such...

Yay!

God of War, Anything Final Fantasy, Godfather, Metal Gear Solid 1-3, are jus a few games that are AMAZING on the PS2-so get 'em.

Final Fantasy games are near the top of my list... (I'll hunt around for Silent Hill 2 in the coming weeks). Final Fantasy VII is hard to get. Final Fantasy X and XII are in the $15-$20 range though so I'll probably go for one or both of those.

You're a sad...sick...man...who is doing a good favor for the world, simply because the PS2 will have no demand this holiday season when the PS3 shows up. Corn dogs for the pickin' my friend...when the cats away, the mice will play....

Bottom line, is whenever a new system shows up, aim low and attack the defenses that are overlooked; simply because of the demand of the newest enemies on the battlefield.

Ehhhhh???

I don't know how to take that...

I didn't buy a PS2 for years since my room mate had one, so I had no need of one. I moved to my present apartment last year and have wanted a PS2 since, but had been wanting to get a refurbished one when I had the cash. A friend of mine said that he was selling his for $50 with some games, so I jumped at the chance.

It really has nil to do with the PS3 coming out. I have no idea when the release date of that thing is. Besides, I don't jump onto the newest system bandwagon. I play systems that have large libraries of games and systems that have usually been out for a while.

Bottom line, the PS2 has some good games and I took the opportunity when I got a good deal.

Good deal Grindspine. Even though I already have a PS2, I would have jumped at that.

I think what Mega is trying to say is you could have held out for a new PS2 and gotten it for almost nothing when the PS3 debuts (I did that when the Genesis 1 was released. I bought my SMS II for $20 and a ton of games for $5 a piece). But I don't think that games will tank in price due to the backwards compatability. Heck, Wally World is still selling PS1 games here in Arizona.

You did good, man.

Good Job! I bought one just over a year ago. Besides tons of great games to choose for this system I was also really glad I hadn't sold off any of my PS1 games even after the one I had went bad in '99. Now I was able to replay a lot of those great titles I had kept (FF Anthology, FF VII, VIII, IX, Wild Arms, MGS, Tekken 2 & 3, Bushido Blade, etc.) About forty games in all and completely compatable with the PS2 (and I didn't have to create an online account to do it). Check out some great PS2 titles like Shadow Of The Collossus, RE4, DMC3: SE, God Of War, and Okami. Great Stuff!!!

Besides the old playstation games I had (Silent Hill, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Tekken 3 and Wild 9), my PS2 collection is growing with Tekken Tag Tournament, Soul Calibur 2, Final Fantasy X-2, Sonic Mega Collection...

I'm still trying to track down Final Fantasy X, suddenly it's gotten really hard to find new around here. I don't want to pay $20 for it used when it was new for $20 not too long ago. Silent Hill 2 is definitely have to be added to the collection when I can find a copy too!

Found Final Fantasy X used for $14 and Silent Hill 2 used for $20, so got them both.

I am pondering if I should get Mega Man X collection, or just dig through the garage at my parents' house to try to find Mega Man X for the SNES.

I won't be buying more games for a while...unless I take the plunge for an Xbox for Halo, Halo 2 and Doom 3!

Care to rephrase that now that the holiday is over?

Should he? I mean, nobody has a crystal magic 8 ball. And since the post was pretty dang old, I'd say he has no liability in trying to rephrase or explain himself.
Besides, it seems that the whole PS2 outselling the PS3 is completely out of the norm. When Sega released the Genesis 1 along side the Master System II, the MSII sales tanked. Same with the top loader NES along side the SNES.

Maybe it's global warming... :lol
