I Had A Scary Incident Today

Hello People,

I was walking down the street today after buying some coffee.As I was walking home,I see this Rottweiler running towards me.I admit,I was afraid,and I froze.He kept running towards me,and when he got about 2 feet away from me he stopped and rolled over on to his back!The dog owner yelled.."He wants you to scratch his belly,so I did.What a relief.

I guess it goes to show you that not all attack dogs are mean.

Word of the wise: Animals can sense fear.

In your case, you did not seem a threat to the dog, and appeared to be a friendly person to play with. What a nice dog, but odd way of showing affection lol
 
I was chased and bitten by a dog when I was riding my bike as a kid once. I've had a real hard time trusting unleashed animals on the street ever since then, and I have absolutely no patience or tolerance for dog owners who insist their specific dog would never attack someone so they don't need to keep it on a leash or fenced within their yard. Then it attacks someone. If only it could have been avoided... ::)

My thoughts exactly! I have a nice scar above my lip from getting a face full of dog teeth as a kid. I know they are good animals, but can be very unpredictable.
 
One time when I was about 8 I was at my mom's friend's house. She had a dog that loved me and we would play together all the time. One day the dog was getting too aggressive with me and knocked me over. While I was on the floor he jumped on my and scratched my face. I was bleeding for quit sometime and still have a scar near the top of my head to this day. I was never afraid of him after that though, he was still my friend. :lol
