I think my family computer got hijacked overnight...

Nova

Boom-shacka-lacka
My family runs on that fancy Time Warner cable digital plan, where your phones, TV, and computers all run on a cable connection.

Well, after I got home from college today, I couldn't connect to the internet, and the phones weren't working (ironically the TV was...).

After my Dad got home to look at our phone router (as they're all connected, and this one had it's alarm going), he finally managed to get a connection, and the webpage that came up was not one of joy.

Roadrunner claimed that they had been recieveing lots of bulk / spam e-mail from our computer. Well, I don't think my Dad was on late last night spamming Time Warner, so this is somewhat worrisome.

Right now we have AV running on both computers. Mine will be done soon, god knows how long the other computer will take (it's slow as hell and using Norton). The family computer has picked up a few things, but I bet they're not tracking cookies...

Well, my Dad has to rerun the virus scan as he screwed up something (his sight isn't what it used to be :lol). There was a link at the bottom of the page stating "I'm aware of this problem and are taking steps to solve it".

After he clicked on it, we got our Internet and phones back up. Hopefully we can get rid of whatever is on that computer.

I know it didn't come through mine, as nothing has come up on the scan (our computers are on a wireless network), so someone hijacked the other computer.
