As part of an interview at this year's Tokyo Game Show, Team ICO leader Fumito Ueda took time to answer a few questions provided by the 1UP community, and the most popular of these was whether we might see his games ICO and Shadow of the Colossus released on PlayStation 3 in a combo pack similar to Sony's upcoming God of War Collection. When asked, Ueda said he's all for the idea, and that he'd like to play the games on PS3 (as well as on PSP). "Initially, I didn't want to consider that," he pointed out. "I always thought they were designed for PS2 and should stay there. But lately, I've been thinking it would be nice to provide the games to other platforms to reach more users." Ultimately, however, it seems that a re-release would need support from Sony executives. Presumably the same ones that decided to release the God of War Collection after hearing a lot of support for the idea from fans online, so if you want to see ICO and Shadow of the Colossus in HD, now would be the time to start talking up the idea.

RUMOR: TheSixthAxis reported a rumor that the two classic PS2 titles Ico and Shadow of Colossus will be released in HD format on PS3 in the first quarter of 2011.

I miss SOTC. But did make you feel depressed when you killed one, the sad music gets to me all the time.

As cool as this is, I would personally prefer a remake of SotC. I think the colossus would benefit from the extra PS3 horsepower. They might be even bigger!

i cannot wait for this. Sotc is one of the greatest games ever. Ive had a hankering to play it again for a looong time but my wussy ps3 aint backwards compatible. If only i woulda sprang for the extra $50...

Hopefully it's in 1080p (Not that I don't mind 720p) and SotC has improved framerate.

That doesnt look too bad, and when it comes to America, it'll have ICOs US Boxart, which will make it look a bit better.

Well I missed out on both these games, never played them. People say amazing things about each though.

The European Boxart for ICO surpasses the American one by so much.
