if GTA goes online.... I'm buying it

The next GTA will come out on the PS3, Rockstar has announced that. But they haven't said anything about how the game is laid out. Obviously, they can do things on the PS3 that weren't possible on the PS2. Just wondering if anyone knows about the next GTA game, or if anyone plans to buy it.

It would really depend on how Rockstar improves on the original. All of the PS2 games were practically the same with few improvements, San Andreas ended up boring me. I would have to see first how the game turns out before I make a decision on buying it.

GTA online would rock...depending on how it is done. It could be an MMO game, but that would suck. The "city" would be getting the freaking crap blown out of it every second of every day. Actual servers would be cool, like co-op missions and stuff.

That would be cool. Like going around and helping each other out in missions. Now that I think about it San Andreas would be perfect for this type of online play.

I was thinking like only 100 people to a server, and just have A LOT of servers. If they pull it off right it could be one of the best games ever.

But, like I said, you just KNOW there will be tons of people who do nothing but KILL KILL KILL.

That's what I would do if it's onlnie MP, even if its just to piss people off.

I still dont know whats the point in having GTA online though, co-op missions? I'd rather just play it offline and beat the game by myself if thats case, I need anyone helping me out on a mission. If GTA did go online the server would be jam-packed 24/7! I think it'll be the last GTA out of the seris too if it goes online 'cause they're really nothing else to update.

I dont think the point of it is so you can people to help on missions. I think if they do have it online they will have seperate missions where helping each other out will be much more fun experience. It would suck if they just made the single player missions and just put them online. It would be better if they had online only multi player missions.

Well either way tons of people are going to be on this game all day long either if its online or offline. GTA:SA already had some two player missions, that's fun enough as it is right? If it goes online it better be a good experience, no lag, usage of mics, etc would be nice.

I never played the two player missions, so I dont know how much fun they are. Obviously if it's not a good experience then there is no point in playing it online.

The only way GTA Online would work is if people would co-operate, and that's not likely gonna happen any time soon. Since that's not likely gonna happen, we could expand the gangs from San Andreas quite a bit, so you can pick a gang to join. This way you need to defend your territory against the other gangs, so your gang needs to co-operate to stand a chance. And don't worry, even if you do work together you still get to blow up pretty much everything you want. Even more if one player drives a tank and the other one controls the turret. It's just a thought.

This again rules out all those who don't want to fight all the time, so perhaps we can have alternate things to do? Maybe you get play a civilian without weapons (to prevent a civilian player from blowing up everything) or a cop? Ambulance driver? Halicopter pilot? It has potential, but it's risky. And risky means "We might not get much money from this", which again means it won't happen. It's simply not safe enough. Sad but true.

yeah you are right Spartan, there are so many different possibilities to make the game sweet.

Now that you've put it that way I actually want it to be online now, seems interesting from your statement. I could see you joing a gang/clan and defending your territory, etc. I hope it'll be like Socom a bit with the 8 on 8 teams 'cause over that would 'cause some lag Im pretty sure. I wonder though if there's going to be cheats and glitches? I know someone is going to find some kind of way to cheat.

An FPS GTA could rock, if done right...
Why convert the game into a FPS? You see how Capcom did it with Resident Evil and it was crappy! I think they should just leave it how it is and just find other ideas.
