Hi fellow members,

What are likes and dislikes with the "Next Gen" systems?

God bless,
MR.KAZ 13.28-31

I'm more of a retro or arcade gamer. I have only ventured as far as having a DS when it comes to the next generation of gaming. The price of entry for the next generation has been the only thing that has been the number one item that bothers me. There has not been any of the games that has really pulled me into the hunger for that "next generation" system. Then again I still love the old stuff quite a lot. I guess you can say that I am really satisfied with yesterdays gaming.

I do love going through the stores and looking at the wonderful pretty graphics of the new games. There have been a few games that look great, but there is still that price of entry....... :(

I have mostly been spending my money on the old stuff, getting those games that I missed. Maybe years from now when I can buy these systems cheap I'll be looking for those present games that I missed. :lol

I love the Wii because it has a cool controller, and I don't like it because third party developers could honestly care less about it, which leads to worse games.

I love the PS3 (Yes, yes) because of all of it's awesome features and Blu-Ray player, and I dislike it because it's game selection is a bit lacking.

I love the Xbox 360 because of it's awesome controller and superb games, and I dislike it because it's very unreliable.

360
Likes: awesome games, Xbox live functionality
Dislikes: most of the awesome games are still fps (in other words, it could stand to be more varied in its genres)

PS3
Likes: Blu-ray, some games that are only on PS3 (Folklore, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet)
Dislikes: I don't own one so I can't say yet.

Wii
Likes: Nintendo franchise games, games that use the Wiimote well
Dislikes: the majority of the Wii's game library is crap, online could have been set up a little better

360
Likes: Best library of games, by far.
Dislikes: Older hardware is unreliable, at best. It costs money, for XBL. Could use a little more variety, in terms of games.

PS3
Likes: Blu-ray. Decent library of games. Backwards compatibility
Dislikes: Library leaves a little to be desired. (It's improved drastically, though)

Wii
Likes: Decent library of games. Unique control scheme. Low price
Dislikes: As with the PS3, the library leaves a little to be desired. Most games for the Wii quite frankly suck. (I too was hoping for Hannah Montana to hit it out of the park :lol) Lackluster online.

Wii:

Likes: Unique control style, great first party support, great value, and great at getting non-gamers into games.
Dislikes: Beyond the first party support the games aren't brilliant.

360:

Like: Like others have said it has the best game library.
Dislikes: Looks like HD DVD is going to take a dirtnap.

PS3:

Likes: Gran Turismo 5.
Dislikes: Poor price point, abysmal exclusive game selection, and it's ugly.

360:
Likes: Xbox Live
Dislikes: Xbox live, unreliable

PS3:
Likes: Blu-ray, PSN, Backwards compatibility (if you have any other model other then the 40 GB), Exclusives are well done, Linux install support
Dislikes: Backwards compatibility (if you have the 40 GB model)

Wii:
Likes: Virtual Console, when the controls are used well
Dislikes: controls, lacking in online, library is lacking

360:
Likes: XBL, Awesome Game Selection, Gamerscore ftw
Dislike: XBL, Crappy Hardware

Wii:
Likes: Size, Virtual Console
Dislikes: Crappy Library, Practicly No Online

PS3: (40GB owner)
Likes: Blu-ray, Free Online Play, Extremely Quiet
Dislikes: Backwards Compatability (I wanna be able to play more than just some PS1 games...), PS3 messes with my internet (if anyone can help me set it up right, it would be greatly appreciated), Kinda Large.

Wii:
Pros: holyroflbbqlol Brawl, free online, a solid flow of good games, Virtual Console
Cons: Weak graphics means it loses games to the other two, mainly every racing game and shooter, Wii Point Cards not coming in 1000 Point doses yet, low online list

360:
Pros: Is got Rock Band, good online, good list of games, the controller
Cons: Paying for Live, messing with modem for Live, disk tray, the power brick, no reset button

PS3:
Pros: Looks nice, some good games, GoWIII
Cons: Fleeping expensive, huge, library that doesn't justify the price
