That's $20 cheaper now...

Keep alert peeps...this is the perfect killing season for Nintendo to conquer the portable market once again....

That will be without the Mario 64 DS right?
Basically... you are paying less than $129.99 now with the added Mario 64 DS deal... that would be around $119.99 if you took into account of the sm 64 ds price.

Its cool they will be dropping the price. I wonder what that will do competition wise.

That's cool. Some retailers just dropped the price here from $179.00 to $149.00. I guess some idiots thought to jack up the price for the DS because the PSP was so expensive. But another $20 drop is cool for me!!


BV, I think it means Nintendo will dominate this segment yet again. Maybe Microsoft will soon offer a portable???

Prices drop to spur sales when they are low and renew interest in an existing product. Or if the product becomes siginificantly cheaper to manufacture.

I don't think the price of the DS would drop after a year just because... especially if its still selling as good as it did a year before.

I think it's because it's cheaper to manufacture. It seems to me that every time I go to a retailer that sells the GBA, DS and the PSP, people tend to flock over to the DS more than the PSP. I think the GBA is still popular because parents buy it for their kids because it seems more robust than the DS. Correct me if I am wrong, but I doubt the DS sales are lagging.

No the DS isnt lagging. I think Nintendo are going for the kill this holiday season.

I don't think this move is to revitalize sales.... it has been selling very very well lately.... this is probably a move to put the hurt on the competition.

For a few weeks.. the DS was selling more than the Ps2... and it was keeping pace real well.

I haven't seen any more sales figures since then though (it was pretty recent).

confirmed.. its starting next week... $20 drop to $129.99

IMO.. I'd rather pay $150 and get SM64 ds though...
I mean... if you buy the console and sm 64... its $155-160.

Bundled @ $150 was a good deal.

Another thing that stinks... is that the $150 bundle AND this new drop does not include the Metroid demo.

No it includes the actual full game of Metroid Prime: Hunters for $150. and for twenty bucks less you get only the DS.

Btw there's an error at GameCrazy stores....apparently some monkey mislabeled the DS with Metroid Demo Bundle... the wrong price...it's $109.99 (Yes for a NEW one)....I'm gonna check today to see if that's real or not.

I would definitley buy one for 109. I can always play my sisters if I wanted though, so for now I wont get one.
 
Okay people it's offical, GameCrazy has yet to change it...it's still $109 (Yesterday and Today)...just make sure it has the Metroid Prime Hunters Demo...
