Yeah, it is very helpful, especially when your writing a novel. But there's more to be said for being able to correct your own spelling and gramma.

Holy Crap,that must take a tremendous amount of time.If I may,what sort of novels do you write?
 
Well, to be honest, spell check is like SparkNotes. Used as a tool, it will help you a lot. Used as a crutch, you are only hurting yourself.
