Hi People!
When I read the post with respect to Warner Bros. purchasing Midway and the "Mortal Kombat" franchise,I made a remark to my brother about how cool it would be if they integrated the "Looney Tunes" with the "MK" characters into a Fighter. He promptly replied that it would never fly due to the fact that it might be inappropriate to associate cartoon characters such as those from Warner Brothers with the blood and gore that "MK" is famous for.
I thought about it,and on one hand I guess parents wouldn't get a huge kick out of their young ones seeing that.My opinion is that their has been video games that have done this in a different fashion.I also said, just take out the blood and guts.He also said that "MK" is popular because of it's gore, which I can understand in a way. It's always been my opinion that humans are attracted to violence.
There's been lots of Fighters that were successful without having to resort to gore."Street Fighter" is a good example.I just said,go for the goofy kind of game."Ultimate Mortal Kombat III" had codes where you could do "Babalities" among others,so it's certainly not an original idea to goof it up.We have seen other completely ridiculous titles work, why not this?
God Bless,
Kaz
