I'm just curious, how does someone become a Moderator.Do you just apply,or does the amount of posts you have become a factor?Don't get me wrong,I'm not gunning for anyone's job,I mean if I had a nickel for every different aspect of the computer that I knew about,I'd be in debt! :)

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Peace be with you.

Well Mr.Kaz, I'm pretty sure (can't say for this site cause I'm one on another) that it comes down to loyalty, being helpful, and helping people abide by the rules. I don't believe post count has anything to do with it. :)

It's a combination of things. Board activity, contribution, respect, loyalty... lots of things like that. Essentially, if there seems to be a lot of things slipping by the mods then its brought up in the DKOH and potential new moderators are nominated and discussed.

Post count really has nothing to do with it. There's a few mods that are still in the 1000-2000 range, in fact. It's more about having posts that count. :D Bad play on words there. But it's true.

For the most part, mods get where they are by earning the respect of the members, the other mods, and most importantly, Bluevoodu. ;)

The best way to become a mod is to post like you hope to be one some day; ie, don't flame other members, try to keep discussions on topic, post stuff that's game-related, etc.

Hah. *notices post count of self* Yeah, I'm not the big mass-poster. I prefer to take it slowly with posts. :p

On that, though, there really isn't a "requirement". It all honestly comes down to Bluevoodu. If he feels we need another, he'll look for an outstanding member. Basically, be a clear and concise poster, avoid arguments, and encourage good, healthy conversation. If you can do these things while following the rules, you'll be in the running should BV need a new mod.

Don't get banned multiple times. *glances around* Shut up...

@Kirby, avoid arguments, but encourage debate.
