Except that dells have horrible bios and all the ram speeds are stuck at 533 or is it 667mhz... Yeh, dells aren't really a gamers friend. And dell desktops (minus the xps series) are all btx proprietary computers with hardly any room for an upgradetrkorecky said:Avoid IBuyPower if you can. Sure, they may have decent prices, but you definitely get what you pay for.
If you're going for a laptop, get a Dell with one of the coupons to save a ton. That's what I did, and my laptop still beats most gaming computers.
Well, in response. I was talking about higher ram speeds. 1066 opposed to 533. I wouldn't want to make my own laptop really. Not really any use to me besides the macbook i own for audio editing. Maybe I'm just not a laptop person. I don't like the price difference between a laptop and a pc when the latter performs exceedingly better for less money. =\ I guess it would be cheaper to buy a pre-built laptop...you win.trkorecky said:Yeah, try making your own laptop. Go for it, I'd love to see you fail. And please, tell me how much of a difference you notice between 667MHz and 800MHz. A frame per second or two? Yeah, not really worth it considering the fact that laptops aren't meant to best full desktop systems at gaming.
I was talking about the Dell laptops which, despite your unnecessary hatred against Dell, still take high marks for their performance. XPS series is a complete waste, if someone wants to game on a desktop PC they should build it themselves. There's really no alternative, unless they feel like wasting money for trash.
